Are you kidding me? Is that the medical condition that got her released?

OMFG! What a joke of a judicial system we have here!

This really CAN'T surprise you. California let Robert Blake blow his wife's brains out with his OWN gun and let him walk. They let O.J. slice and dice Ron and Nicole and let him walk. They let some ghetto thugs bounce boulders off Reginald Denny's face and decided NOT to press charges as part of the "reconciliation process." And lastly, you had a mob of fucked up celebrities and anti-death penalty liberals outside protesting when they fried Tookie Williams, a former gang member who ADMITTED killing several people. Why on earth should Paris Hilton do 23 more days in jail as part of a conviction than Blake or OJ? Again, I'm ecstatic she's out. She exercised poor judgment, which doesn't make her a hardened criminal. In-house arrest would be much more appropriate. But I think that too, would be way to much.

Indeed. The Sheriff that altered her sentence may also be looking at charges. I'm betting he took a nice sum of cash to alter her sentence  And he'll be spending it looking for a new job  I hope they put her back and make her do the entire 45 days now 8)

USA Today had this:

Hilton has no prior DUI arrests. If convicted, she could be sentenced to six months in jail and fined $1,000. The minimum penalty for a first-time offender is a fine, probation and alcohol-rehabilitation program.

I can't believe you are defending her.

She got probation, which she plea bargained down to...then violated it twice.

Defend that.

Personally, I think .08 is bullshit. It used to be .10 in Illinois and they lowered it to .08. That's just ridiculously low and has been shown to cause no more impairment than smoking does. Should smokers be arrested and sent through this bullshit process too? I WOULDN'T be defending her if she had blown like a .12 or something like that. If I were the cop she would have been blowing but certainly wouldn't have been arrested. Again, I'm elated her sentenced has been reduced. Will be celebrating in her honor tonight.

I'd be willing to say that if statistiics were investigated teher would be as many significant amount of smoking related injuriws as alcohol yet the smokers are allowed to blow there shit in your face!

Today the fire dept was called by a smoker as the balcony next door was in flames
Seems a dry moss planter had ignited w no one home.
Appartent;y the smoker thru a butt off her balcony or allwowed a lit ash to catch in the breeze & land & catch fire causing my day to be hell & to have residents come home to a smoky apartment w a door broken open by the fire dept where they were able to extingish the fire before it spread!

I don't think Paris is that bad
I think she is not in the same laeague as say Linsay L.
Now there's low class opirtunustic leech

I think Paris has redeeming qualitiies & its not her fault she was born into her life.

Well just my $15
Thats my daily wage here before TAXXXXXXX!!!!!!

We don't have any choice in the matter of whom we will be born to...
Money or poverty
Love or hate

Hey Deano has 2 coming into this world!
We just have to make the best of it.

8)

The best & worst of us make mistakes.
I'm not defending her
I just feel she has good inside her
it shouldn;t matter if she is rich or poor.
If money buys her a get out of jail free card
that the rest of us poor slobs couldn't sfford.
then hate her for using her resources.
Think about it though
If you had the resources
wouldn't you try to buy your loved one from prison?

I'd like to be able to spend $3 on a starbucks coffee
buit I make my own.
$3 wouldn't even tip the woman in the bathroom in the Hilton for handing you a towel...LOL

So should I hate her for this society that runs on the green I have so little of.
Frankly I can't afford the time!

Sorry SJ, but there is plenty of evidence to show that a .08 can be impaired as well as a .10. We are not talking intoxication with a .08, we are talking IMPAIRMENT. People get very confused between drunk and impaired. You can be very impaired to drive way before you ever feel or act drunk. Many cops around the country actually do little tests of their own in police academies and for education where some of them will drink and the others will watch their impairment as each drink goes by. They give them the road side sobriety tests and check their alcohol level along the way. That, along with other studies he has read, makes my husband a believer in the .08. Plus in today's world with all of our education and all we know, why is it so hard to desigate a driver when you go out drinking, or get a cab. It's just irresponsible and selfish. If you have enough money for the drinks, you can afford the cab. And in Paris's case, she couldn't get a driver for the night??? Please.

I've driven over the .08 limit literally hundreds of times. When I was just out of college I played softball 5 nights a week and went to the bar afterward. I usually had between 8-12 beers and drove about 15 miles home. Zero arrests, zero accidents and zero incidents. Unfortunately, I was nabbed October 18th 2006 by an overzealous prick cop who said I went "beyond the pedestrian white line" while waiting at a red light. This scumbag pulled me over because my car was 3 feet over the thick white line that precedes the pedestrian white lined walkway. I came to find out in court that between 11pm and 5am he literally pulls over EVERY vehicle on Vollmer Road in Flossmoor Illinois. Since 2000, he has given out over 900 DUI's. His ends justify his means even though he is illegally pulling over virtually everyone he nails. I wish that motherfucker nothing but the worst. For the record, I blew .189.

If she is too ill to stay in jail or there is a life threatening situation then by all means she should be released.

To a hospital.

Not a 2 billion dollar mansion

I hope her ankle braclet causes a rash.

How is a cop overzealous for doin his JOB! Obviously you got lucky to not get caught your other hundreds of times. They randomly pull over cars that go over lines hoping to catch a drunk driver. It's what cops do for a living. Whether you want to believe it or not you were impaired at .189. And pulling someone over that way is not illegal. My husband about 150 dui arrests in one summer, so I guess he's a motherfucker too. I like to think instead he may have saved a life.

Yeah, how can you NOT be in her corner now? He didn't have a problem defending the black ghetto thugs that bounced concrete blocks off of Reginald Denny's face while he was trying to make a living. It was an obvious outburst of cold, calculated, premeditated racism, but Paris should go to jail for 23 more days than those felons? Yeah, ok. They should've been charged with aggravated battery, car-jacking and attempted murder. Each should've done AT LEAST 20 years. Yet he wants Paris to go to jail for driving on a suspended license? I look forward to laughing my ass off when the Democrats cow-tow to him and Jesse Jackson at their pathetic convention. They have no stones (which we already know) if they don't bar them two from their convention. But they can't, they need the race hustlers to secure the black vote.

I was at a complete stop at a red light. HE said my car was 3 feet past the white line, though the 3 passengers in my car and I thought otherwise. DUI's are nothing more than a revenue source. The only thing I learned is that they're expensive, nothing more. As for your husband, I'm sure he means well, and no, I don't think he a motherfucker, but my best guess is that his DUI arrests have merely put a financial burden on people rather than teach them a lesson.

Well, my husband does mean well. And he doesn't have any kind of incentive to use it as a revenue source. Most cops he works with don't look for dui's because they dont' want the paper work involved. It's not illegal though to pull someone over when they are over a line at a red light. Those are things that cops are taught to look for when looking for dui's. It's sad people can't learn their lessons.

Seat belt tickets and some speeding tickets I can agree are nothing more than free money to the local government. But DUI? I've never driven drunk in my life and never will. It's not worth it either way.

Way I see it is, if you're gonna drive w/ half-a-jag on you better damn well mind the ps and qs and err on the side of caution. Juannie, don't stop where you THINK the ped line is, stop a foot and half before it.

My guess is that you didn't even know it was there until johnnie law told you....these guys are like hawks and you have to get up mighty early in the AM to get one past them.

I'm not a cop, not related to any just admire what they do. SinJin, I agree that you may be more skilled at driving drunk and able to do it safely, but they're aiming for the majority of people who suck at driving when impaired.
