Actually I know TNC likes it too.

I love that song, too. Love the guitars on that track, especially.

Arrival and Red13 are two of verrry small number of albums that I can listen to all the way through. The songs are great on both of them. I would say that Red13 is more of a musician's album, though. And Generations is good for about five songs.

I think it has to do with which era you got into during your formative years. I became a Journey fan at fifteen and it was because of the Augeri lineup, so that's the one that stuck with me. I heard the music with an unbiased ear, with no expectations of it sounding like the previous lineup. I just judged the music based on it's own merits, without all that other baggage, and I absolutely loved it.
Sorry to slightly hijack the thread, I'm just tired of the, "it's ok, not as good as the Perry era" disclaimer being taken as a rule of thumb because it's not. It's only an opinion.

Not only that, but it also showed a lineup that was settling into it's own distinct sound.
A little harder, a little more blues influenced.
I think Generation's "Better Together" showcases this sound, as well (almost sounds like a track from Augeri's Tyketto album).
There are more poppy and immediate songs that the Augeri-era produced, but these should be given special recognition, I think, for at least going somewhere diff. musically.

If you're talking about the Jeremey that everyone else has been talking about, then you've got the wrong guy. Jeremey hasn't been on the forums in several days.

Totally agree - Arrival got me back into Journey after a long layoff.
You gonna do Higher Place when you tour with them then....?

I've only hear two of the songs from Red13, so I can't comment on the other two, but yes it seems very experimental. Arrival has a few decent songs, but nothing stellar, in my view. ROR & TBF were much better than Arrival.
