Maybe b/c my posts are longer than others that use it all the time? There are others who use it ALL the time. At least I'm consistent.

To quote Col Sherman Potter "Horse Hockey!" Sting has (or HAD) a damn fine voice! No, he didn't "soar" the way Perry did, but come on! The man had a great, unique voice. And anyway, the point is well taken. The POLICE absolutely HATED one another, and they've managed to put that aside and give it a go...come on Steve...sack up and jump in!

Also, how old is Andy Summers now? He must be way older than SP. I know he doesn't sing, but isn't he a lot older than Sting and Stewart?

I have seen Sting a few times & he was magnificent.
I believe Andy is about 64, Sting is 55, Stewart is 54. Not too far from Perry's age really, huh? (Optimistic loon here)

Everyone here likes to joke as if he's done absolutely nothing these past 12 yrs. But he has done quite a bit. Not just Journey remasters. He has collaborated w/& worked w/several bands/artists.
Everyone also likes to say he couldnt handle touring again. Maybe not 3-4 nites a week for months on end w/Journey, but something tells me he could still handle less dates per week very well. Most people in their 40s (never mind late-50s) couldn't handle Journey's touring schedule. It's tough.
I think Perry just prefers not to get back into the limelight again. After all, there are still rabid fans making pilgrimages to San Diego hoping they can track him down! He has a quieter life now & after all the crazy touring, maybe he enjoys it that way.
I dont think we've heard the last of him tho. Call me an optimistic loon!

Sting is looking pretty good again. Love that spikey do he went back to. That is just SO him. I thought he looked like shit when Sacred Love came out. 03, I think?
Andy & Daryl Hall might be a few of the only 60-ish guys who are still hot. Wait, Sir Cliff too, right?
God was Sting HOT back in the day. & I rarely liked blondes. Did I ever tell u about the time we ran into him in Hampstead? I almost passed out. I was all of like um 15? Here was this GOD standing right in front of me. Holy shit. That still gives me goosebumps. Now this I admit (here u go Red), I fantasized about him being my teacher. But it was all innocent fantasy back then. Just sort of getting in his car & him wanting me so badly...Then again, I dont know if I could go for 5 hours. Sheesh.
What's ur favorite Police song? Mine is "Does Everyone Stare" from Regatta de Blanc. Totally LOVE that song. That album is dynamite. I can't wait to see them.

Wow! I didn't think Andy was that much older than the other guys. I checked Wikipedia and he was indeed born in 1942, so he is closing in on 65.

I think when Sting sang in French it just got me "J'aurai toujours faim de toi". Holy shit. There's a YouTube clip of him live where he says the song is about fucking. Yeah baby. Turns me into Morticia Adams that song.![]()
Eye Candy - Daryl last Dec:

If they come around u, go see 'em. Fucking dynamite show. Daryl is SO sexy onstage. He does this little dance thing that just makes u go WOW. Pity about him & Sarah tho. He replaced her w/a younger model lookalike a few yrs ago. Great show to see, trust me. They take audience requests all nite. The next day u can buy a live video of the show u just saw at their site. Yeah, they're STILL that good. Perhaps w/a certain lead singer another band could have done that?

I'm sure they are fighting...I don't think they ever stopped. But now they;re just too old to care!
Incidentally...Dio is actually 379...next May.

I was at the Dodger Stadium show too, but I wasn't crazy about the concert. Maybe my expectations were too high as I never saw The Police in concert before. Even so, Sting changed the melodies of the songs to avoid the high notes in places a little too often. The group lacked energy overall, but the kicker was the sound system was horrendous! All I heard throughout The Police set was bass guitar, drums and Sting's voice. Andy's guitar was so faint it was almost nonexistent.Sounded like you pulled up to a red light in your car and the car next to you had a subwoofer turned way up while having the windows shut. The Foo Fighters set was even worse. Could barely make out Dave Grohl's vocals on top of barely hearing guitar.
Overall I was disappointed, but I freely admit, my expectations were really high. At least I can say I saw The Police live in concert now. Lord knows they'll probably break up again at the end of this tour.
By the way, it was Stuart Copeland himself who started the rumor about them fighting. He openly criticized Sting on his website or something.

Is this the article? I think it was after the 2nd or 3rd show. At least they can laugh at themselves
