Atlanta is officially the absolute WORST SPORTS CITY IN AMERICA! It's not even close! These yahoos can't even sell out playoff games, and that is flat-out embarrassing! The Braves go to the playoffs almost every season, and you can drive to the ballpark the night of a playoff game, and sit wherever you feel like sitting! The Red Sox make the playoffs, and the tickets for the playoff games are on eBay for 50 times the face value, and people are lining up to bid on them!!!!!!

I don't like Atlanta teams, either. I hope the Falcons dump Vick soon. How any NFL team would want that scumbag leading their team is beyond me.

I'd route for the Falcons before I route for any Philly team though.

The Falcons need all the fans they can get. Just like the Braves, they get no support in their town. Can't imagine why they put an NHL team back there either. It is a minor league city.

The Braves don't need anymore fans. Infact...the whole city should be nuked. j/k

THe fact that Atlanta is a shit sports town (and it IS) doesn't negate what Bobby Cox and that team have been able to do over the last 15 years.

Oh...btw...BASEBALL sucks!

True...BUT most of 'em don't make a case of it like MLB did back then.

I'm actually a lot less interested in pro football and basketball these days. I still love baseball.

Steroid abuse in the NFL is a lot more rampant than any other sport. Basketball is just boring anymore, not to mention that the NBA players are even bigger crybabies than any of the other pro sports. Baseball has its problems, too, but I've always loved it. I'm thinking the tougher steroid testing is having its effect on the home run totals, though.

I've never understood pro athletes wanting to artificially enhance their performance. I guess it comes down to being TOO competitive but I would think that a person should be totally embarrassed of themselves just from knowing that their performance wasn't really all them.

What was this thread about again?

Back when the Phils swept the Mets at Shea, Cole Hammels gave up three home runs in a row, the last one by LoDuca, who arrogantly flipped his bat after hitting the ball. Plus, the guy cheats on his wife with teenagers. A complete scumbag.

Lo Duca's a bush league punk. Hits a homer and flips the bat like he's babe fuckin ruth and stands there for a year admiring it, then celebrates crossing the plate like he just won game 7. Did it at Shea against the Phillies (when the Phillies stuck the brooms up their asses) and he did it in this series.

Of course no Phillies pitcher had the guts to so much as throw inside to him either after that.

He needs to take one off the chin for that crap. For that matter, Bonds needs to be put on his keister several times.

I definitely think Hamels had every intention of putting one in LoDickhead's ear, but ran into problems on Friday.

Part of the problem is that the umps nowadays will sometimes toss you out on your ass for even throwing one on the black on the inside part of the plate after a homerun is hit. I say if a guy showboats after hitting a dinger, the next time he is up, the opposing pitcher should be able to put one in his ear with no repercussions from the umps.

Too true. The hitters and umpires WAY overreact to purpose pitches now.

Lamentably the Clemens, the Big units and Schillings are like the only ones that can get away w/ it now.

Moose, remember Ricky Bo dropping a bow tie on Bonds?> Then Bonds charged and Botallico cracked him in the grill with a straight right and upended him like Byron Evans taking on a fullback?

Absolutely. Bottalico was a tough kid. Wasn't that the game where Bonds stole second when the Giants had a huge lead? Prick. Ricky Bo nailed him with the first pitch. One of the few highlights that year.

Bonds did something totally Bonds, then I think Botallico threw one right behind him at about 95 for his trouble... Bonds took a step to the mound pointing the bat, Bottalico gave him the head shake and the double-handed "COME ON!" gesture, calling Bonds' bluff....looked like Bonds gave a real half-hearted mound charge too.
