Are you a member of congress?

You do realize that many pharmaceutical companies are international, right?
The #3 pharmaceutical company in the world, GlaxoSmithKline, is British.
Sanofi-Aventis is French, Novartis is Swiss, Hoffman-La Roche is Swiss, Astra-Zeneca, is Anglo-Swedish.
These are some of the leading pharmaceutical companies; oh, and yeah, their R&D spending is higher than the American companies that make up the balance of the top ten.
And what about all the bio-tech companies in Japan, Europe, and Israel?
Much of the money spent in this country goes towards other crap, not R & D.
