I think I will do it even more 2 annoy U b/c U seem to enjoy it so much & my point in life is to annoy U as much as possible so that U can get the most enjoyment from being annoyed by the things U see me write.
Wheels Of Fyre wrote:The Midas touch didn't work with SA because JC and NS did NOT give him the reins like they gave SP.
Come on already! That's just so very clear.
Wheels Of Fyre wrote:Pre-JC JOURNEY spent 4 years building a fan base after bringing in SP. Not an easy task. JC came in after all of the tough work was done!
Furthermore, HH's plan was to create an "evergreen" catalog - lots of hits but no #1's.
As far as Billboard standings the pre-JC music is lower however they weren't necessarily trying for high ranking hits.
JC came in at JOURNEY's peak. I'm not diminishing his contributions at all.

Really? Then how come he didn't do it before ur desired loverboy "Amadeus" (aka Friga the Fag) came on board?
JR (Susie) wrote:Matthew wrote:JR (Susie) wrote:
Did Metallica make one of those?
Game, set, match.
Now and again you really do throw out a curveball of such randomness and illogicality it's difficult to know how to respond.....
Actually u threw out the Metallica one. I just hit the ball back & won the match.
JR (Susie) wrote:Oh yeah. That's right I forgot. Friga did that ALL by himself.
Castle's Burning interview.
Why Fyre, I think u made poor little wimpy Matty Lightshoes cry. Send urself to the principal's office NOW. U wicked boy
JR (Susie) wrote:[Ok I'll play. Where is Amadeus' magic dust now? Are u draining him of it w/ur wet dreams?
JR (Susie) wrote:Matthew wrote: I'm really not following you at all....so let's start again by answering your original question.
You asked: Did Metallica make a sappy ballad?
I'm answering: No.
Okay - try and say something comprehensible now and we'll take it from there.
Go back a page.
I know this is tough for ur brain to follow, but u told me to go on a Metallica forum to see how they appreciated my machismo for Journey. I said I don't like Metallica as they're metal. I like melodic rock. U said:Matty Lightshoes wrote:And sappy, radio-friendly ballads are a big reasion why the melodic rock genre used to be such a success....
I asked did Metallica make one? U are now saying no to that. So, exactly how does that qualify Metallica as a melodic rock band?
Follow now? (Sorry to interrupt ur Friga fantasies w/all of this.)
JR (Susie) wrote:Wannabe Deano? Ha ha. He's male, I'm female. I know that might not matter much to u tho.
So, did ur Adonis, err, I mean Amadeus, run out of magic dust?
JR (Susie) wrote:I like ballads. Never said I didn't. I just don't like syrupy ones like Faithfully.
I like melodic rock. I don't like metal. I never said Metallic was too heavy for my ears. I said they were too metal. Quit twisting my words Matty boy.
Melodic rock is famous for just that: melodic rock. It is NOT all ballads by any means. If it were, Journey just wouldn't fit at all, now would they?
JR (Susie) wrote: Ur just lumping us together b/c neither of us appreciate ur sappy strange worship of Friga who u call Amadeus & think his shit don't stink. It's just weird to love the guy the way u do & have XY chromosomes.
Adonis is sex talk? He was just a handsome Greek God. What's calling him Amadeus supposed to do? In the play, Mozart was a vulgar man who constantly engaged in sex talk, loved to make jokes about "scat" & used the services of a maiservant supplied by Salieri, a two-faced nutjob. Forgive me for that reference bringing up sex-talk. That's pretty much what the play was about.

Sure but no doubt u'll have some argument about them. Off the top of my head:
Journey: Just The Same Way, Lights, Daydream, Winds of March. Foreigner: Say You Will. JSS: If This Is The End, This Ain't The Love, Nobody Said It Was Easy (Eyes), In Make Believe (Talisman)
Just a few examples of non-syrupy ballads.

I define metal & heavy as different genres. For example, Yngwie is HEAVY, but not metal. In fact, most of his stuff is too heavy for me.
Bullshit. What is Foreigner's "Urgent"? Certainly not a ballad, certainly melodic rock, certainly their most famous song. How about Boston's "Rock N Roll Band"? Not a ballad & yet one of their most famous songs. Asia's "Heat of the Moment"? Not a ballad, but extremely famous for them. Styx's "Renegade"? Same thing. What are Henley's "Boys of Summer", "All She Wants To Do Is Dance", "Sunset Grill", Dirty Laundry"? Not one of them ballads, all melodic rock & songs he's most famous for outside of The Eagles. Speaking of The Eagles, is "Hotel California" a ballad? Can I get mean & moody over that song?
Ur the one who is posturing ludicrously in ur too-light sneakers, buddy. Not me. Get a grip. It's embarassing to watch this.
