But Laura...no-one cares...so they barely qualify as scandals. Take a look at this month's Classic Rock magazine and see how scandalous they find the latest developments.....if you can even find the single paragraph article tucked away on p.9.....
Matthew...Just because Journey is not a mainstream band anymore, doesn't make the scandal less important.Sure,Tapegate and Dumpgate will not make it in the media like a Paris Hilton scandal would, but the rock music community and the fanbase are aware of the details and that's enough trouble for Journey. They have lost credibility.Unfortunately, they have also lost the opportunity to be credible again.
I am saying this by clearly separating the 2 Journey eras that were decisive in their history: the Perry and the Post-Perry ears.
The former is untouchable and it's over. The latter is what they had to build and ultimately failed. Why? Because they haven't been making the right choices.
Resorting to tapes, disrespecting the fans, lying and treating singers like pampers are not the ways to (re)build a career.
You say that the magazines don't write too much about all this?Of course they don't,and it's exactly because the band is not credible anymore.
