Here's another w/out lapels or buttons (which u previously said was how a hairdresser's smock should look but u have now backed down on that theory):
Oh Susie...this really is getting tiresome. I posted the picture of the hairdresser's smock to show what a hairdresser's smock looks like. And it still looks like a hairdresser's smock BECAUSE IT IS ONE. And it looks different to the OTHER PICTURE which is of Jonathan Cain in his COAT.
There are only two pictures, Susie. How hard can it be?
This doesn't look like Jonathan Cain's coat either.
Here's another that is ankle-length:

Nor this. But thanks for giving us the full smock range
To further prove my point: In that same video, what do u call the "coat" Perry is wearing?
I believe it's called a "tailcoat". Or simply "a coat".
Perry himself has admitted (in some interview, don't ask me to find it) that he was watching an old Fred Astaire movie & had the idea that a top coat would look great w/jeans. He then had one custom designed for his stage act that has MUCH longer tails than usual & had a lining fit to absorb perspiration. It's still considered a top coat, however, right? But it is slightly different than the ones usually worn by Mr. Astaire in his movies.
Please tell me u understand that although u haven't found an exact picture of a hairdresser's smock that looks absolutely identical to the one Friga wore in the 80s (most likely b/c that WAS 21 yrs ago), it is still called a hairdresser's smock.
Well, I wasn't expecting Fred Astaire to suddenly make an appearence in this thread....
Okay Susie. Let me explain:
A coat with tails is a coat with tails - no matter how long or short the tail is.
A hairdresser's smock is a hairdresser's smock - which isn't a coat.
And - as far as we know - Jonathan Cain didn't have the idea that a hairdresser's smock would look great with jeans and nor did he have one custom-designed to turn it into a smock that is shaped exactly like an ankle-length coat.
Are you with me so far?
