I just had the opportunity to listen to several of his original albums (courtesy of a very nice lady -- thanks) & I'm blown away by the talent. What an awesome voice! He can sure pen a tune too. My husband who rarely comments on much music asked me who the heck that was & said "Wow he's great. He really soars." It's true. His voice goes waaaaay up & it's extremely pleasant to the old ears. Beautiful tone.
What amazes me is that this guy never had a chance to make it big time. He's got the looks, the voice, the songwriting abilities. What a shame! He should have been a HUGE star. Sure is nice to discover his music right now for me though. I'm really enjoying it. Now I really need to get my butt to NYC to see Evolution.
I can't wait for the new album w/Josh & Eric! Hurry up boys. Ur fans are waiting!

Beautiful song. He could release that one today. It's so much better than most of the crap in the charts. Makes u mad that he's not on the radio, huh? How was he overlooked? Yeah I know, grunge & all that shit. What a crying shame. Makes me wonder how many other awesome bands are out there I never even heard of!
There are so many of these songs I really like. I could listen to them over & over. Actually, I will

Is that off of the Valentine cd? I don't remember that one...I guess it could be off of the new album too. Those are the only two I don't have.

That said, every time I have ever seen Hugo on the web, he seems to pre-occupied with trying to be Steve Perry! That may have something to do with the fact that he's never made it in the music industry! I think above all else, the music industry prefers people to have their own persona, and not make the concerted effort this guy seemingly makes to dress like someone else! I've always been weirded out by the guy, singing ability notwithstanding! Unfortanutely, when your "act" is what his act is...it sort of distracts people from listening to the voice!

For what it's worth...you come across rather smug. For the record, I wasn't "classifying" Hugo as anything. I think most who know of him, know of him because of his "tribute act". I stand by my comment...The guy simply weirds me out, and always has! If I were Perry, I'd find the guy's entire act disturbing! Again, I'm not speaking of his solo work, because I simply have no desire to listen to it. I'm speaking him acting and dressing like Perry!

He's not trying to be anything but himself in that video. Yet, his voice is still similar to Perry.

Holland is very under rated. I was surprised to see Hugo hook up with Josh when Adam is already there. I like Adam better than Ramos.larryfromnextdoor wrote:thats the same axe player he has now?? favor each other,, dig it man,, ahrey.. ahrey..man
