Think about it.. for what? Look at their track record recently for how they treat the new guys... Even though it would seem a "dream come true" for many singers, is it worth tossing your established career aside for and leaving your family for several months out of the year, and all with the realization that it might not be that stable a situation?

If I went so far as to audition, you bet I would. You don't pass up a chance like that. I'm sure that no one would expect to be handed the job on a silver plate. What's a few maybe's or "I'll think about it," between a 9 til 5 and the dream of a lifetime.

PS If not JEREMEY, what's going on with ARNEL (whom I'm not too sure about) since nothing official has been stated with the exception of the band picture.

Sincerest apologies for the misspelling, I had no intentions of offending anyone.

This is totally typical for this band. They don't say anything, don't post anything, total secrecy, in the midst of using and literally shitting on as many singers as possible. They screwed up once again in not picking Jeremey, plain and simple. He has the voice and stage presence to give the band's legacy (what little is left after the Frig and Fro show we've been through) some sort of respect. I have to give credit to Jeremey for not letting them use him and then shit on him. There are things more important than some quick cash.... Schon and Cain are right about 1 thing....it IS about the band's legacy at this point, as nothing they have done since losing Perry has earned notice.....

"Use him and then shit on him?"

Since I'm on a roll here I'd like to bring up the more pointed question that I posted on Jeremey's first blog entry which were both quickly deleted.

Jeremey:
You mentioned legal/negative encounters with JOURNEY in the past and also that you figured something was up with JSS. Considernig this why did you pursue an audition? People here defend your integrity but it seems to me that you put integrity aside to audition.

Do you have a rational response beyond calling me names or dragging my mother's sexual behavior into things?

Hell yeah! Its the lead singer post in Journey, one of the most revered and respected bands in the history of Melodic Rock.

Best case scenario is obvious - see the world, recognition, the buzz of working with some of the greatest rock musicians of all time. Worst case scenario is you get put out to pasture with enough money to support many future generations of your family.

To me, its win win.

Look Fyre. All you are doing here is trying to piss JH off and when he blows up on you, you'll play the victim and try to make him look bad for it. How that furthers your cause, I don't know. Why don't you drop this diatribe against JH and leave him alone. If you don't have anything good to say about someone.....you know the rest.

You're going to wind up getting booted off of here, and then again you'll run somewhere, probably the Fil site, play the victim again, and bash JH and AM. What you're doing is wrong.

Rick, Jeremey, everyone. Don't read too much into Fyre's rantings. He's probably just upset because he can't afford tortilla's for his clan because we're burning up all the corn in E85.

Well, good for both of ya, and if I had the same chance, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat... if I was single, didn't have a mortgage, and didn't have a great career that I'd already worked very hard to maintain. Sure, half a million sounds like quite a bit, but first of all, that's before taxes.... after that, it's nothing but a few years of my regular income. Not worth tossing a career away that you couldn't easily come back to and pick up where you left off. And all the time away from the family would be extremely hard.

If you can do it, heck, go for it! I'm just saying that Jeremey had a very hard choice to make. If you think long and hard about it, it's not near as simple as it sounds when you've grown very dependable roots. Especially without any guarantees of longevity...

Half a mil for how long though? I believe that was by way of some form of initial compensation, likely to be followed by a substantial annual wage. I read on this board that Steve Augeri was paid a hefty two million when he left, call it hush money if you like - but still two mil! As for earning a half mil every couple of years - great for you man. Not many people are in the same position. Many of us on here have family's and frequently make sacrifices to ensure that their children have the best possible life whether they be insignificant or potentially life changing.

Above all things, you only have one life to lead and an opportunity such as this goes a long way to making you immortal (not in the Highlander sense).

I just posted in the "No Way" thread that I'm not at all puzzled. There are far and away more complimentary comments for Arnel's clips than there are for Jeremey's - and for good reason.

your logic is pretty faulty there...
The youtube comments are subjective at best.
It's amazing how one can go away from the board for weeks and come back to find nothing's changed at all.

Not sure why you'd want to slam Jeremey... He and Arnel are different. Big friggin' deal.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

If I follow your logic then I can say that the comments HERE are subjective at best - but more to reality they're quite biased.

I'm not slamming anyone so please don't get in that line.

I agree with this... What you would LIKE to do and what you are ABLE to do are not always the same thing. No doubt it was a tough decision for Jeremey. What it comes down to - he had to do what was best for his family.

I believe you're getting constructive criticism and flat out disrespect mixed up.

No. You and many others are mistaking a matter of FACT.

You mean like your so called fact at the Filipino message board that we are all racists here at MR. Here's a clue for you stupid: Filipino is NOT a race! Asian would be a race. So don't spout off about "facts" when you can't seem to get that one fact straight.

Well, actually a matter of fact is that the commenting function for the Frontiers clips are disabled. So, to state that Arnel would be better than Jeremey because Arnel has more comments on his youtube clips than Jeremey would be a skewed view of who is better.

Now, if you put them side by side, live and in person, and allowed the audience to decide, I could see then.

Best case scenario is obvious - see the world, recognition, the buzz of working with some of the greatest rock musicians of all time. Worst case scenario is you get put out to pasture with enough money to support many future generations of your family.

To me, its win win.

I agree with this... What you would LIKE to do and what you are ABLE to do are not always the same thing. No doubt it was a tough decision for Jeremey. What it comes down to - he had to do what was best for his family.

It must have been incredibly difficult to have been given the chance of a lifetime before spending a great deal of time considering options and accepting then receiving confirmation only to have the opportunity cruely taken away (the deal breaker again?). That really is harsh and no doubt more complicated than it need have been (as was that first sentence).

I wonder if Jeremey's 'welcome to Journey' message on his answer machine forms a verbal contract and if so what the implications of that might be.

One last thing, in Jeremey's blogs Journey come across as being quite open and affable almost in direct counterpoint to how they have been viewed in recent times here. I for one found this very refreshing and enjoyed the level of detail in the blog entries.

Jeremey, if you are reading - time to break out the KD buddy - "Every night to me is like Ha-a-a-lowe-e-e-e-en"!
