What's more amazing is that there's a handful of deft idiots in this country that just wont get it.
Would those idiots be the people who elected and re elected the worst president in history? Just curious.
Because of recent events, my anger and demeanor is toned down quite a bit, but as I was reading these comments, my blood pressure hit 180 I am sure.
Carry on.
Worst president in history has been worm food for longer than any of have been alive.
But I see where you're going with this, and I'm not totally on board here....nor an I totally in disagreement either. Bush has done alot of damage...but my comments weren't specific to Bush.
First off Dean, it wasn't my intention to set off your bloodpressure, especially given recent events. I suspect if you allow me to explain my position on this, it might aleviate the blood pressure ever so slightly...
The fact of the matter is that there are piles of people on both sides of the poltical spectrum that take a great deal of political propaganda in this country as face value fact...when instead it's fabricated shite. That's really where I'm going with this...
I don't agree with that much of what Rush Limbaugh says....but what democrats tried to do to him, was wrong. Constitutionally wrong. Like him or not...when senators try to limit (through official declarations) a public figure's speech, that goes against the very grain that the constitution was founded on. There are specific freedoms in the constitution afforded to people in the press (a distinction I will loosely afford Limbaugh for this discussion) that are far more protected than most other common interpretations of 'freedom of speech'.
This is something that the Democrats have incorporated in their political game plan for as long as I've been alive. There's a great deal of effort on those to the left, to waste far more energy smearing those to the right than doing their best to make sure their message gets out fairly and honestly. Rush is just the latest target for the left's misguided energy. I might hazard a guess that this is a stupid target as well.
The fact of the matter is that I might have voted dem a few times here or there....but after seeing the smear/propaganda shit that Move On/media matters pulls on a relatively frequent basis, it makes it very hard to accept supporting a left-side candidate.
I dont agree with the direct analogy in that poster with Ike....because I don't think Hitler = Husein...but where I find the analogy freighteningly/disturbingly close, is the fact that this is how liberals would have addressed something like WWII....politics would not end at the shoreline for them. They would be flying into Berlin smearing the current president/administration, doing photo ops with Muselini, etc.
If liberals didn't pull this kind of shit....they'd have alot more supporters. But these kind of spiteful, angry, underhanded attacks make it hard for people to embrace the philosophy...and in my opinion, is the achilles heel of the party.
The only reason why the current congress is as left as it is...is far more so a reflection on the current president than an endorsement of ideas coming out of the left.
