Perry's Somethin' to Hide? I thought Fleischmann was singing that song live before Perry ever joined the band?

Anyways, I'll be off for a bit, I have to study for an AP US history quiz. I'll be back on later, and you're encouraged to discuss this, whether you agree or disagree with my opinion.
You can get a year of college under your belt by the time you graduate high school taking the AP courses. That's what my son's working on. What are you going to major in? Just curious.Good first post, BTW.

I find them both laughable and sad that you'd go out of your way to argue with a 16-year-old who simply disagrees with you on a subject, who has not attacked the object of your obsession, and who continues to try to be respectful of you.
As a teenager, my patience has limits (though they're clearly well in excess of yours). For the final time: please cease with the defensive behavior. It's unnecessary.

Shouldn't you be in school?
Strange Medicine wrote:Edit: Oh, and just for kicks, I will point out to you that the closest I've come to 'attacking' you would be now. And I don't intend to go away. The only thing that will happen from here is, if you continue to harrass me with boundless accusations and hostile behavior, I'll inevitably return the favor, and things will get really ugly. We teens have a flair and tendancy for tenacious vindictiveness that cannot be matched.

And as for me not knowing this forum, I must confess I'm new, so I have to get used to things. But I've read this forum for months since JSS left.
Anyways, I'll be off now. Again, if there are doubts about my age, the "www" link at the bottom of my profile will link you to my Myspace. Feel free to add.

Any kid who likes our music is ok by me. But he's gotta take some hazing to see if he has thick enough skin to last around here.

Pretty much love most of the catalogue of songs over the years, but I actually preferred his more husky, earthy vocals in Frontiers/ROR/TBF over the glass-shattering highs of the early material........just more soulful to me.

My feelings exactly. Never could figure out the obsession some have with how high someone can sing. The later Journey & SP solo material reaches me in a way that the earlier recordings do not.

But nothing I've seen or heard from JSS -- live or otherwise -- has led me to believe that he could tackle Steve Perry's more demanding catalogue and higher registers.
Steve Perry was a vocal acrobat in his early Journey days. Jeff, like most singers, couldn't sniff his upper register on certain songs. Not his or anyone else's fault. God chose to give Steve Perry those one in a billion pipes.

There's also stage presence, which I'd tip my hat to JSS over SA
Agree +100....Believe it or not, I think Journey was more comfortable with Steve Augeri's stage presence than with Jeff's.
