I can agree with those. I don't think I've ever heard a better version of either of those live than the studio.

Don't have the boot myself and not even sure when it was recorded...ethreal in it's beauty.

Probably the one from 1980 in Houston, I believe. Excellent version of that song.

That's just what I was going to say, PC. That boot, in my opinion, is the best live concert I've ever heard, Perry's vocals soar, not just on Patiently, but Winds of March and a lot of others also. Boy would I love to find a video of that concert.conversationpc wrote:somethingtohide wrote:I've heard a boot of Patiently that for me is the most beautiful Perry vocal ever.

Perry's Stand Up Before It's Too Late from FTLOSM was one I could take or leave until I heard it live, love it much better live.

I believe that the only songs from FTLOSM that Perry performed live were; "You Better Wait", "Missing You", "Listen to Your Heart" and "Somewhere There's Hope".

I have a New Jersey FTLSM boot that he performed that one on, come to think of it that's the only boot I've heard it on. I'll upload it later for ya if you're interested.

There is quite a bit of Perry-era Journey that once I have heard it live has won me over the studio version. Here's a few and will add more as I think of them. Lovin Touchin Squeezin IMO comes across much better live than studio, has more of a bluesy/sexy swagger when played live. DayDream is another one that sold me over studio version. And surprisingly Perry's Stand Up Before It's Too Late from FTLOSM was one I could take or leave until I heard it live, love it much better live.
Only the Young is one that I don't think I've ever heard a live version come close to the studio version.
I'll save you the trouble, Deb...I've got it right here.Deb wrote:Johnny Mohawk wrote:Deb wrote;Perry's Stand Up Before It's Too Late from FTLOSM was one I could take or leave until I heard it live, love it much better live.
