Holy shit, Frontiers and Tebow??!? I would go into brain overload!!! My niece had to go to NY last week and they were at the airport waiting to fly back home yesterday and Tebow gets off a plane and walks right past them. He was there for the Heisman ceremony. They were so thrilled they were calling me from the airport "YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE WHOS HERE!!!!...." screaming bloody murder in my ear!!!

Well, since Im not siskel nor eibert I can only gauge it by my enjoyment level as well as the rest of my group and the other people at the place, and with that being said they were great. Sounded great as usual. And I had a blast. Theres your review.

Hey Tim!

It was great to see you & the wife on Saturday! We had a fantastic time. It had been quite a while since we were all up on stage, so I'm sure there was a few rust in spots (getting back to smoking probably hasn't helped me either), but we had one of the best times we've had in a long time on Saturday. Andrews is just a great place, and the staff & venue there are top notch. It's the only "bar" venue we have carried over from years past with our new limited schedule for 2008 because of the great people there (even if it is a 7 hour drive - after picking up Sabrina & Quinn in NC yesterday, we finally got back around 1130 last night!)...We'll be back there in March again, with the rest of those new songs polished up. And make plans for NYE 2008, as are booked at Andrews for that as well.

Thanks again for making it down to the show!

Sounds great, we are already looking forward to it!!! Your right about Andrews, it is an awesome place and all the staff that we've met in the past really are good people. All very friendly and cool to talk to. Its about a 3 hr drive for us, we are near the Florida line where we come up from but we didnt get home till @6:30pm yesterday. We checked out of the room(after I downed a bottle of tylenols) and had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe in Downtown. It was just a great weekend. By the way-I know you saw the ladies with the painted on tops at the show? I think Barry looked intrigued.....Thanks again for the great time!!!

Sounds great - Thanks for making the trip! I did not get to see the Absolut promotional staff, but I heard about it after the fact. I believe the band got some cufflinks, but I passed on mine. We did have a great time, though and looking forward to the show in March again. We'll also be in the area for July 4th weekend! Take care, man!

Step AWAY from the tobacco, my man. Just because guys like Halford and Tate have smoked like a chimney, doesn't mean you can do it. I don't want you to end up sounding like Roger Waters with a cold.

You are correct. What most people don't realize is that I've smoked pretty much since I was 17 years old. Been able to kick it for several months on end, the most recent was about the past year and a half, but it crept back in with the stresses of the past several months. Tried taking Welbutrin to kick it again back around Thanksgiving, but it generally made me feel like shit so I'm giving Chantix a try this week.

What smoking does for me in general affects my breath support. It's not so much a tone or range issue as it is losing steam near the end of a 3 hour set. When I am not smoking, I sound the same at the end of the night as I do at the start. When smoking like I have been, it becomes a struggle near the end to maintain the breath support some of the material requires.

I will be through with them again by the holidays though, for sure!

If not, perhaps some of the folks here on the board who live in your area can form a brute squad to swing by your house occasionally and apply a little "pressure", ala the "Quitters Inc." story in "The Twilight Zone" movie...

Jeremey,

Hang in there you can quit the cigs! I smoked from age 19 to age 38 and I am a runner as well as doing some extremely physical underwater escape work (ala houdini) The only thing that made me quit was thinking about my three daughters and my wife and how unfair it would be for me to continue killing myself just to stick a cancer stick in my piehole! I have not smoked for 4 years now. Do it for your newborn and your beautiful wife... they need you around, that will be enough to get you through it.

You are absolutely correct. This is the primary reason why I struggle and try to quit. Not being a full time singer, it's not really enough for me to change my lifestyle around performing. But my health and my responsibility is the reason - should be anyone's reason - to change the unhealthy lifestyle. It was the only reason I started watching my diet and quit drinking back in February (with Quinn coming), and that alone was the greatest thing I've ever done for my health. Being able to put down tobacco indefinitely would be the only thing that could top that in terms of health and quality of life.

i quit smoking december 25 of 2000.this is going to be my seventh year of stopping this christmas.i've been so stressed out fighting with my girlfriend, bills, etc. i keep imagining one.i know i'm messing up and hope like hell i don't cave in.i want just one marlboro ultra light.i made my girlfriend quit because we had babies in november of '04 and november of '05.the main reason i don't start is because she hasn't smoked in three years and i don't want her smoking around our kids.its best i don't because then she'll start back too.best to just battle the urge myself.

mike, fight the urge whatever you do. Lot of people say it just takes one...That's not entirely true. The "one" will taste like shit and make you want to puke. It's the 2nd and 3rd that turns into a pack that will do you in. Once Sabrina went into early labor I dropped her off at the hospital and then went to get coffee and made the mistake of picking up a pack of cigarettes at the same time, thinking I'd just smoke a few to get me through the nerves...Big mistake. By the time Q was born at 930 that night, I was readily lighting up and looking forward to the next one.

Tobacco - More addictive than crack, kills more than any other lifestyle/recreational drug combined. Yet it's legal, accessable to children, and the health insurance companies won't pay for cessation treatment...Boggles the mind. Getting ready to head out and light up now.

My mom smoked, that's why all of her kids do not smoke. One day she was watching TV with my Dad, she spit up a little blood, and said "look at that, what is that?". Next she threw up her lungs and bled to death in front of my Dad. Sad but true. A common style of death from emphysema.

Next time try Ibuprofen. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is very toxic on the liver when taking it before or after drinking alcohol.
