I hope Arnel had a really good lawyer to deal with these 2.
On a side note, just re-listened to a couple of clips of Arnel on You Tube and I have to say that I am very curious about the new material as he does "seem" to have the strength and emotion of Perry in his voice. We'll see how long he lasts... I do wish him the best.

Much of the entertainment business in the Far East is 'influenced' by Triad activity so woe betide Neal & Jon if Arnel gets screwed over.
Didn't Steve Augeri have the same at first? He sounded great for awhile ....then the touring and non stop shows ended up kicking his ass.I hope this guy is ready for all that because I'm thinking he's not used to doig as many shows as he's going to "HAVE" to do .(remeber the boys want there money no matter how many shows they need to do!)journeyinto2001 wrote:I was thinking today.....Neal & Jonathan praise the hell out of their "newly found" lead singers. Gregg will work with Neal on a song here and there. Abraxas Pool fell apart. Smitty wouldn't stick around. Aynsley appeared for one song at the WOF concert. Hardline=1 CD. Bad English=2 CDs. Jan Hammer=2 CDs (I don't think there was any touring). Paul Rodgers for a show. SS=1CD. JSS won't be back with Neal. Steve Augeri: done. Most obvious: Perry won't come back.
I understand why Deen and Ross stick it out. But really, why does Jon put up with Neal. Or is it true that Jon now has the control and Neal has to put up with HIM?

We know that SP "made" the band but the core is and always will be NS. I don't think its a matter of JC putting up with him. Where's he gonna go and be a success?
In fact, where's NS gonna go and get the success he's had. They have to ride the JRNY name to get the moola they want/need. BTW, RV would've been on ROR if he could've so he didn't bail.
We're just seeing the last gasps of what was once a GREAT musical unit. On par with anyone you can name.

1. Could do the job. 2. Had a trust relationship with NS 3. Available quickly.
Does anyone believe at the outset they intended JSS to head up the band after the tour? Debateable.
We know this is a dead horse but since the threads here, my two cents.
This is an opportunity for AP, as it was for JSS although I doubt he'd taken it knowing what was in store for him.
If AP lasts long enough to tour or record, he'll benefit immensely from his time in the band.

I think Cain double teams with Azoff and keeps real change from happening. Cain wants Perry's influence diminished as much as Neal does. Cain has always wanted to claim a bigger part of the success of Journey for himself.

We asked JSS if he had it to do all over again, knowing the outcome, would he still do it. He said absolutely, wouldn't trade it for anything.

He's about the classiest guy you could ever want to meet.
