By the way, my name is Tim, not Frank but you seem like a nice person and not insulting like some here so you can call me whatever you like!
Oops!

I'm sorry. I always thought your name was Frank.
I understand what you're saying...kinda. I guess I just don't agree with it. I wonder how many of the Journey fans that were crazy about SA came aboard after he was named lead singer. Based on my reading at BT, TJF (before the 'B') and elsewhere, I really think many of those fans discovered Journey after SP left the band, and therefore didn't share the same passion that the 'loons' felt. I knew of him, saw him in a show at Nissan Pavilion early in his tenure, and although I was impressed, it wasn't to the degree that he wowed me into following the band. In fact, I didn't "rediscover" Journey again until I heard about tapegate. Then I found this place and have been hooked ever since!!
I think it's tacky to on one hand name your company NOMATA (an indirect slap in the face) and disrespect SP, and on the other hand do everything you can to try to reproduce what SP contributed. They did this with SA, not so much with JSS (had many of us convinced that they were trying to honor the past while looking to the future), and unbelievably so now with AP. They belittle his contribution all the while trying to emulate it, and I'm just not okay with that.
I don't believe they will have the success with AP that they (and some here) are hoping for. It's just too creepy at this point. In one sense, I hate that they are using AP in this manner, and I do recognize that this is an opportunity of a lifetime for him and don't begrudge him one tiny bit in going for it. In the other, I hope they fall flat on their faces for all the shit that they've pulled. It's a shame, because I really like Ross (thought he was great when I met him at a party) and Deen and feel like they're totally caught between the perverbial rock & hard place.
It all just sucks!
