Coaches, especially in college athletics, SHOULD protect their players. These are still basically kids who are not emotionally mature yet. They'll have plenty of time to learn to fend for themselves later on.

The writer was a chick (Jenni Carlson) and that had to be as sincere sounding a speech as I've ever heard. NOTHING seemed tranparent about that at all. And if it was, he should be in Hollywood.
