Miami has a nucleus to build around now and Phoenix has a shot at a title...something they did NOT have 72 hours ago. Phoenix traded an immense talent for the shot at winning a title this year. Shaq has this year and probably next year left in the tank.

where did Bobby Knight go? did he leave for health?? what a nut. my yongest daughter's high school coach was from West Texas and coached like Knight. she threw mostly clip boards and just kicked the chairs. hehe. and so my daughter learned well and would cuss out the refs and insult their families and heritage. it was ugly but highly entertainging.![]()

I don't think Shaq's weight is the problem that many make it out to be. The reality is that the guy has 12% bodyfat at 320lbs (these were the numbers from the physical he took with Phoenix). While 12% bodyfat isn't bodybuilder low, it's certainly not very high for a guy who is over 300lbs! I think Shaq's bigger issue is that he'll be 36 in 2 weeks, and age has finally caught up with him. As many athletes do (Look no further than Randy Moss), he may find a new sense of motivation by being on a team that doesn't suck, like Miami does! He may have a little left in the tank, but it's not much, so we shall see.

"Gary"
Dean, that reminds me did you ever see the South Park episode where Oprah's ass and poon talked to each other? I think one of them was named "Gary".They both spoke in British accents for some reason.

Dude, I was just thinking of the same exact thing, wondering if any of you have done the same thing!
How did the Wings lose to the Queens last night? Queens have Detroit's number for some reason.

Jesus...That guy is still around??? I haven't paid attention to the NHL in years, because the local team in Boston is so ABYSMAL! Blake is older than I am, so he can't have that much left in the tank!

Knight has no health issues (certainly none that were made public). I think it's really as simple as Texas Tech is a pretty mediocre team, and he wanted to give his kid the inside track at a head coaching job. He already hasn't ruled out coaching again, when asked by ESPN. He made it pretty clear that it would have to be a top program (which isn't likely, given Knight's propensity for bullying his players) for him to come back to coaching. The guy is one of the all-time jackasses in coaching, but at the same time, I also think he's one of the best college basketball coaches to ever walk the sidelines. I know it sounds like a contradiction, but if you look at the guy's record, it's pretty impressive. When you factor into the equation that he didn't coach that many great players (Isaiah Thomas is the only one I can even think of), it tells me the guy knew how to coach basketball. I also think something that's important to remember about Knight, and give him loads of credit for, is the fact that he actually graduated his players, which doesn't happen a lot in college basketball circles! It still doesn't change the fact that I think the guy is a jackass, and I would never allow my son to play for him!
