"Songs Noticeably Slowed Down" ....or not?

So I picked 2 songs at random and ripped the audio from the following YouTube clips:
Don't Stop Believin' - http://youtube.com/watch?v=MU_zMr1yIcw
Separate Ways - http://youtube.com/watch?v=EZ72gCMySaA

I next loaded the audio into my sound editing software and played them simultaneously with the audio of the same songs from Reno 2006 (JSS). The result: Both Vegas 2008 clips stayed exactly in sync with the Reno 2006 clips.

I think the consensus is that no - they were not slowed down (any more than perhaps alreadyhave been over the years...)

So with that in mind, I edited that part out of Dan's review. I don't liek to edit in hindsight, but in this case I think it was ok and fair to do so.

Back off there, Don Quixote. Don't go chasing any more windmills.

Leave it alone, alright? Don't go looking for a fight. Go to that other dude's board if you want to do that.

Go HOME already, damn! I re-started this thread so people could have a legitimate conversation about this Journey topic and you come hi-ho-silvering your way in here and ruin it for us yet again.

Hey I will. Maybe you should stick around and get stimulated a bit yourself. If the "lejendawy caweew of Exotic Juh-Nee" drivel is all the better you folk can come up with, you'll need stimulation by the truckload!

I didn't hear a timing issue at all

Postby ttango1 » Wed Mar 12, 2008 4:02 pm

I'm a staunch AP supporter and I can say that there wasn't any slowing down. I could see the guys were anxious at the beginnings of certain verses and that Ross and Jon would smile and nod at times, when the songs started perfectly.

Sitting from 103 Row H dead middle about 80 feet from Arnel...I can tell you that the reason they re-did faithfully is simply because the band started early and it didn't time with the video montage. I noticed that early on in Faithfully 1 when Arnel sings," Circus Life under the big top world, we all need the clowns..." The background showed clouds at that time everywhere,..."through space and time, always another..." Then you see a big top and converse tennis shoes on someones feet. So the timing of the video wasn't in line with the song. If you guys remember, you'll see a hand writing on what looks like black paper with a white pen...Arnel sings,"I'm forever yours....Faithfully." Then you see F-A-I-T-H-F-U-L-L-Y written.

Watch for it on the YT, make sure you watch both versions...you'll see it. Rip & SJ didn't believe me but I gotta an eye for stuff like that.

That apple-bottomed avatar is good, mine is better...mine moves!

Prog has contributed more to this board today than you have the entire time you've been on board. I've always thought you were a fire starter.

Great closing line from 7 wishes!!!!!! WOW!

Not a fire starter (and you call me out - when there are INFERNO starters on this site, LMFAO!!!!!!!), just not on for the current "tide". You can drink the kool-aid.

Have a nice day!
