I'm no Fabio but I've pulled some above-average tail myself. It's not the spandex pants here, but maybe it's because I keep it real? No clue, but I'm proud of myself, haha.
I can't stand high-maintenance women. I like women that take care of themselves, but not to the extremes that some of these ladies take it.

When did you start liking women?ProgRocker53 wrote:7 Wishes wrote:Eh. I was a lead singer in a number of bands over the years. In spite of my mediocre looks and huge nose, I still managed to date some good-looking women. It must have been the spandex Diamond Dave fire pants.
Anyway...my experience...women like that are ridiculously high-maintenance. My ex-wife...case in point.

I was in the minority in wanting to hear them with Jeff's voice too, mainly because Journey & Steve Perry are big influences for him, & I just love how he sings the songs (same thing with how he sings Queen's songs). I still would love to have had a disc with his voice on them. Sucks that will never happen. Nothing can top the originals of course, but I'll still listen to it at least once, what the hell.

Just curious if you have the Arrival DVD? Woudn't that basically be considered re-recording the hits + 2?
LOL Larry! But thank gawd, I can barely even listen to Perry's version of Can Do.........

No, completely different story. Live versions don't count as re-records.

Well, the re-records were recorded "live" a la the old way. They went into the studio, recorded them live and then edited them (are editing them) where they felt it necessary. I guess it would be considered mostly live.I'm just happy it isn't Arnel's vocals over the old tracks. I think the fact that they redid every piece of the music will give it a fresh, different sound.

Actually, Elson produced Generations and it sounds like shit!
Shirley produced Arrival and it sounds pretty damn good.
I had thought Elson would bring back that warm Escape/Frontiers sound/production to Generations.
Not sure what went wrong.

Live recordings and re-records of studio versions are two completely different animals. If that wasn't the case, Perry would've never allowed the 2001 DVD to be released. To my understanding from what I've read in the past, Perry had certain rights to the music which didn't allow the band to go back into the studio and re-record the songs with a different lead vocalist. Obviously now since those rights expired, Journey is going into the studio to re-record the hits with another lead singer.
And really, while I don't believe they'll use the old tracks, who's to say Journey wouldn't simply do this? It's the same difference.

Yeah. I know you're right, but it just seems kind of ironic that some of the people complaining the loudest have a ton of audio boots of both SA and/or JSS singing the greatest hits.
