You know, the type of person whose idea of “patriotism” is a belief that their country is better than any other country, their country is always right (with the possible exception of when a liberal is president), and anyone who believes differently and raises objections to their country’s actions during war time is unpatriotic at best, or treasonous at worst.
I don't think ANYONE believes that we are right ALL the time. However, that's totally different from what this guy said. And, yes, I do believe this is the greatest country on the earth and I hope that people who live in other countries think THEIR country is the greatest, not in a smug, stuck-up way, but in a proud, patriotic way.

You couldn't be more right Barb. This Church should lose it's tax exemption(I think every Church should pay taxes), but this black piece of dog crap has preached his last sermon, and surely this church will cry racism and want to go on receiving exemption.

Senator John McCain hailed as a spiritual adviser an Ohio megachurch pastor who has called upon Christians to wage a "war" against the "false religion" of Islam with the aim of destroying it.
On February 26, McCain appeared at a campaign rally in Cincinnati with the Reverend Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church of Columbus, a supersize Pentecostal institution that features a 5,200-seat sanctuary, a television studio (where Parsley tapes a weekly show), and a 122,000-square-foot Ministry Activity Center. That day, a week before the Ohio primary, Parsley praised the Republican presidential front-runner as a "strong, true, consistent conservative." The endorsement was important for McCain, who at the time was trying to put an end to the lingering challenge from former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, a favorite among Christian evangelicals. A politically influential figure in Ohio, Parsley could also play a key role in McCain's effort to win this bellwether state in the general election. McCain, with Parsley by his side at the Cincinnati rally, called the evangelical minister a "spiritual guide."
and...
A few weeks ago, to little notice, Texas megachurch pastor John Hagee, founder of the new "apocalypse now!" national lobbying group CUFI [what is CUFI? see story footnote] met with Presidential candidate and US Senator John McCain and, over breakfast, discussed Israel and "other matters" Pastor Hagee declined to detail in the email he sent out to members of the CUFI mailing list because "This newsflash goes to the ends of the earth and I don't want to read it in the media tomorrow". At July 19th, 2006 Washington DC inaugural event for CUFI, after recorded greeting from George W. Bush, with four US Senators and the Israeli ambassador to the US in attendance, Pastor John Hagee stated : "the United States must join Israel in a pre-emptive military strike against Iran to fulfill God's plan for both Israel and the West... a biblically prophesied end-time confrontation with Iran, which will lead to the Rapture, Tribulation, and Second Coming of Christ."
So, what were the "secret matters" John Hagee and John McCain discussed last January 29th ? And, why is Senator McCain seeking political support from an advocate for apocalyptic war ?

Reverse racism is as bad as straight racism.

If we were to adopt the Fair Tax, EVERYONE and EVERY company or organization would pay the same taxes.

McCain did NOT say we'd be in a 100 year war in Iraq. He was talking about possible troop presence (if asked), much like we have troops in Germany and Korea.
Obama and the dems are misleading the country, hoping they will believe that Mac meant we'd be in a war there for 100 years. Not true.

Obama and the Minister
By RONALD KESSLER
March 14, 2008; Page A19
In a sermon delivered at Howard University, Barack Obama's longtime minister, friend and adviser blamed America for starting the AIDS virus, training professional killers, importing drugs and creating a racist society that would never elect a black candidate president.
"We've got more black men in prison than there are in college," he began. "Racism is alive and well. Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run. No black man will ever be considered for president, no matter how hard you run Jesse [Jackson] and no black woman can ever be considered for anything outside what she can give with her body."
Mr. Wright thundered on: "America is still the No. 1 killer in the world. . . . We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns, and the training of professional killers . . . We bombed Cambodia, Iraq and Nicaragua, killing women and children while trying to get public opinion turned against Castro and Ghadhafi . . . We put [Nelson] Mandela in prison and supported apartheid the whole 27 years he was there. We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God."
His voice rising, Mr. Wright said, "We supported Zionism shamelessly while ignoring the Palestinians and branding anybody who spoke out against it as being anti-Semitic. . . . We care nothing about human life if the end justifies the means. . . ."
Concluding, Mr. Wright said: "We started the AIDS virus . . . We are only able to maintain our level of living by making sure that Third World people live in grinding poverty. . . ."
Sen. Barack Obama's pastor says blacks should not sing "God "Bless America" but "God damn America."

McCain does not have a 20-year association with Hagee nor was he even likely aware of Hagee's beliefs. I've known about Hagee for years but even I am not aware of his beliefs. On the other hand, Obama has had a close association with his pastor and known all about him for two decades.
