i just got through reading the tom cruise book.talk about some very scary twisted shit.anybody that believes in that scientology shit has got to have a loose screw.the whole book basically states in the last twenty years the guy that heads scientology is tom cruise shadow every where he goes and basically runs the mans life.these people are like a cult and the believe in lying or killing for what the believe in and thats no shit and basically one of the top rules, lie at all costs or kill at all costs if you feel it.did anyone here know that scientology is one of the only corporations to ever face the IRS head on and the IRS backed down and got tax exempt status, look this up its true.they will dig dirt up on anyone and anybody to further the cause.even the government backed down so you know these are dangerous individuals.

That is so disturbing. I am going to go wake my husband up and make him come in here and sleep. OMG!!!!! Religion is suppose to be a good thing. I don't get that and I don't get that cult thing down here in Texas either. Geez, I have goose bumps.

No way does religion "save" you. Religion will send you to hell as fast as anything. Jesus is the only way. Good works, Religion, being a member of a church, being a good person,...none of this saves, may make you a better person. But trust and Faith in Christ is the answer. It is a same that the "religions" give others a bad name, it turns people away from church.-ERIC

Absolutely -- it's scary. I always love showing off my favorite expose article on Scientology from Time Magazine (1991) -- well worth a read and very informative. Time has probably been made "clear" since then...

I was just listening to a recorded sermon on my way to the office this morning called "Toxic Churches" which deals exactly with that. It starts with a dramatized re-enactment of a family at lunch after church, being insensitive to their hard-working and polite waitress and finally having to have the manager come up and apologize for their experience... it ends with her alone somewhere crying and saying to herself, "Stupid hypocrites..." I've seen a scene exactly like that at one of my favorite little hole-in-the-wall Thai places. A table full of church staff, pastors apparently, acting like they were the bees knees, being loud, and running the restaurant owner ragged with their little demands. The cockiness at that table coulda knocked you back. I've never come so close to calling someone out -- I wanted so bad to walk up and ask them, "I overheard you talking about your church. What church are you from? Really? I'll be sure never to go there...", but I just gave them a look, shook my head and left.

After your review of Lightning Strikes Again, I'm wondering if you don't have a few Thetans or engrams creeping around in your noggin. You may actually benefit from a Scientology audit! 85% SONGS and 90% SOUND do not average out at 85%... LOL! Please revise the average to 87.5%, and I'll call off the Tom Cruise M.I. strike team that's poised to raid your compound.

The true idea of religion is as basic as literaly, being nice to people and showing respect.

Religious people can do what they like, aslong as its private and not being rammed down peoples throats

Agreed 100%!!! "Church" is in your heart and in your actions. It's certainly not some physical, tangible structure that protects child molestors, scammers, and southern snake twirling, bible thumpers that tend fuck their cousins.

I absolutely believe Scientology is a cult, but this guy doesn't help his cause using the F word every 15 seconds. When people talk like that, I immediately think they are not intelligent. No idea what his experience is/was, but he comes off like a moron in this clip, IMO.

Actually, it is nothing more than a fad brought on by Hollywood elitists... it's presence in pop-culture is the only reason most of us have even heard of it. Religion is crap anyway. Faith and acknowledging that there is something out there bigger than us all and having the fortitude enough to ruminate on what we personally find to be true instead of following some archaic doctrine is what spirituality is all about. If anything the pursuit and quest to understand God should be our religion. Knowledge. Certainly not some bullshit crap-ass author who didn't know allegory from alliterations. :P :)

Churches across this nation do alot of good as well, I'm so sorry your experiences with organized religion or church has been a
negative. There are some great things being done by churches though. Most food pantries across the United States are thru
churches, churches help people adopt and the Salvation Army in itself if a church that helps thousands of people find
jobs, get shelter, food, and back on their feet.
Its not all bad, but I agree with you that it shouldn't be a place where people can hide and be protected from breaking laws in our society.

I've seen and read interviews with him. He's been hounded by the "Church" of Scientology and their lawyers for much of his life, been harrassed, etc. L. Ron Hubbard was nothing but a snake oil salesman and an occult practitioner.
