Nope, not true. Perry was at his "best" in '82-'83. I am glad he didn't walk away back then, but I am sure he would even agree the period of time that included E5C4P3, Frontiers and Street Talk was his vocal and songwriting peak.

Well, you all have more knowledge of this than I do. The last thing I remember from Journey was the song on Visionquest and Steve Perry sounded good to me then. He never embarassed himself, even if you all feel he was past his peak. I have my worries currently of how the Triumph reunion will turn out. I know Rik still has his chops and can sing since I have seen his solo shows. No one has heard Gil Moore sing in a long time though. Consider me cautiously excited, but I hope they don't do anything to tarnish my memories.

Wondering that too. Eric Martin (and Neal Schon) wrote this one and I much prefer EM's amazing vocals on it, but Gil does a pretty good job on it too. Just One Night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVtsKuj22vQ

NIG & W2 are relentless. Whatevs...doesn't change anything.

We should have a bet with them since they feel this incarnation is going to be a cataclysmic failure.

What say you gents?

Deb, did you also notice that one of Journey's latest song "Turn Down The World Tonight" has a Mr. Big feel on it like "Promise Her The Moon". Would also sound nice on Eric Martin's voice IMO .

I love your passion dude, but this isn't technically an adult forum. It can be viewed by any age. The adult threads should always be marked as such, so parents can guide their young eyed children away from that. Any parent that would let their young child read here is way more liberal than I am though.

Why the fuck not? Several schools of thought here:

1) Wal Mart mandated they be redone before they signed off on the new package. Fine by me.
2) It serves as a big "FUCK YOU, SnupplePerrygus!" Fine by be again.
3) It was the band's way of saying, "Here's our new singer. If you like what you hear come out and see a show this summer. If not, grab your Escape cassette, go sit in your Smokey And The Bandit 1977 Trans Am, run a hose from the exhaust into the car, seal any holes with duct tape, and enjoy."

4) They did the re-records so they have something to lip to when they go on Dancing with the Stars, like Leppard shamelessly did recently. Anyone see that?

I saw that and COULD NOT BELEIVE they lipped to the original. Couldn't they have at least found a live recording that would have sounded more current?

W2 is in...what say you NIG?

Rick, I'm inclined to agree with you except for the fact that this board, through use of words alone, can violate or merit a RR or soft X rating.

So what say you NIG?

Oh and W2, I'm so sure fired set on getting these guy to Gold stauts via downloads and album sales through word-of-mouth guerilla advertising that I'm willing to possibly go through 3 months of signature hell. I'm down!!!!

That boytoy pic is mos def for the Chippendale set, but... I did stipulate that the members of the forum could submit ideas.

Again, W2 is in...what say you NIG?

How may copies is Gold? If it wasn't available for next to nothing thru the largest retailer in the world, I would take you up on it. But I think Tiny Tim could have reached Gold with this deal. I just think Jeremey would have been an amazing fit since they want to sound like the Perry-era again. I am looking forward to Saint John and other's review of the Frontiers upcoming Indiana show. I stood there in Baltimore last week just amazed that there is another person blessed with a voice like that.

JH has made his peace with it and I know I'm one of many who thank him for his contributions in his brief time with legend and also wish him much success in his future endeavors with both royalties from NWA and his Frontiers group.

Maybe this time, since he now has a real Traveling Frontiers group or (Group B as he calls it, I think), he can make it out west to Californy. I'd watch him. 8)

NIG, I agree, Jeremey (all 3 "e's" ) would have been a great fit. HOWEVER, there was a huge faction, many of which are your friends, and a few that are mine too, that said they didn't want " a parrot." I thought what you, along with others, but NEVER myself, loved about JSS, was his way of singing the catalog "different than Perry?" So am I to decipher from what you have presented as "evidence" that you like both "different' and now "the same" as Perry? Basically, you like JSS because he can't sing the songs like Perry and Jeremey because he can? :? And Arnel can do both, so he sucks.

I asked that same question months ago...

Postby ttango1 » Sun May 04, 2008 12:45 pm

when I was a wee newbie.

I asked then, Why did people want to call AP a parrot when Jeremey was being lauded for sounding like Steve Perry?

But then again, why re-hash it? If you haven't heard the clips...they stands for themselves.

Journey Rocks...need I say more?

Yes he can. That's like saying you can't. Of course you can and so could he. The only reason he won't is because he's scared shitless that he wont sound like everyone thinks he should.

I wish he would get over that and just do it.
