I doubt he minds being "pushed around and used for 8 years" when he looks at his bank account. The guy easily made 5+ million dollars during his tenure. I don't see him running back to The Gap to reclaim his old job so I'm quite sure that his 8 years have allowed him to retire comfortably. Tall Stories sure isn't gonna pay the fucking bills. Granted, he'll have a few rows of female fans whose favorite phrase is "Super Size that please", but concert concessions don't factor into how much the act gets paid. If that were the case, Tall Stories would surpass the Stones.

What does that have to do with anything?
Why do you and Tito consistently throw up dollar signs as a roadblock to any conversation that so much as teeters on criticism?

He isn't. However, he was humble enough to know that this is the chance of a lifetime, made some very simple requests, and is using the opportunity to prove his worth. In fact, he makes less than one half of what the other members make per night. He understands that it's a privilege to front this band, keeps to himself, stays an arm's distance from the fans, and keeps his mouth shut. He gets it.

Soul Sirkus ended very badly.
So badly, I believe JSS had his doubts about him and Neal being on friendly terms in the future.

I haven't heard much about the demise of Soul SirkUS.

Care to share a bit on what went south?

Wow. Take a minute and really read what you just wrote. And if what you said about Arnel's salary is true, ask yourself why Augeri and Soto didn't get treated like that.

I remember Neal being discouraged about record label support, as well as the Van Halen fiasco, but never saw anything pointing to problems within the band.

I could say something, but I won't because I don't want to make it seem like I'm bashing JSS. So, all I say is I think this is in regards to JSS saying, that Journey management had a conflict of interest in promoting SS or something to the effect. If I remember though, I think JSS when he was in Journey's camp, said now he understands why, etc.

I mean, did you expect Neal to give up his cash cow for a bar band. Before, anybody jumps on the bar band comment, that is where I saw them at, a bar.

From what little I gleaned, there was bad blood concerning Neal throwing in the towel.
Neal talked up getting SS new management and making a go of it, but it all went to hell.

Yes, Neal legally could not mention his Journey affiliation when promoting a Soul Sirkus tour...

Yeah, and if Perry does release a new album, he'll probably sprain his ankle jumping from the Journey ship to the Perry one.

I'm not Arnel's babysitter so I need not ask myself anything. The band had delusions of grandeur with Augeri and had to pay Soto what they did considering the circumstances. Arnel is getting paid what a relative unknown should get paid. Augeri and Soto were fotunate enough to get overpaid. Good for them.

Another valid point, I forgot about that. Actually, I thought it was at least $400k. Not to start it up again, but I think defendant, Mr. Neal Schon should be found not guilty of the alleged crimes.

Hey, every band has to start somewhere. Even ones comprised of insanely talented individuals.

Did Asia and Toto (two groups made of established musicians) go straight to big arenas or start small like most bands would?

Not positive, but didn't Asia hit the ground running. They debuted with the biggest album of 1982, correct.

Yes, indeed, but I'd assume they'd do some shows before the release. Was wondering if they did smaller markets to "test the waters" before going in headfirst.

Journey has always been very loyal to their frontmen. They waited for Perry for about 20 years too long before severing ties, and about 3 years too long with Augeri. Perry should have gotten bounced in about 1988 and Augeri in about 2004. I don't know the specifics of Arnel's contract completely, but if he lost his voice for more than a few months I would expect him to get bounced too.

Fuck you, asshole. That album is garbage, and everyone I've (embarrassingly) played clips for said the same. It's simply atrocious. Chemistry, not members, make an album. Start a grass roots effort and mail that stain of an album to radio stations. They'll probably try to have you committed. Soul Sirkus...lol. That's funny.
