The notes he hit made my jaw drop. The whole band was on FIRE for the filming and Arnel is perfect singing the Journey catalog.I'm beyond impressed with the DVD and the new songs.
I thought the same thing- he absolutely nailed M/F.
I just bought the cd/dvd on the way home from work and threw in the dvd. My thoughts......
- First song "Anyway you want it", hearing Arnel add "ah" on to the end of almost every word......I thought there is going to be no way I am going to be able to watch this whole show if that's the case, but he seemed to lose it on the next songs.
- Really, really like "After All These Years!"
- Realized I still love Deen to pieces.

Mother/Father was amazing! That is one talented dude.
- Ya just can't not like Arnel! Such a happy little camper.
- Saint John may have been right on one thing that he was ribbing me about today in another thread (when he said you don't have to sound like Wolfman Jack to be emotive

). All 3 of my faves have a certain amount of grit to their voices......and to me that seems to add feeling/passion to a vocal (ballad or rocker).....more emotive. Although I like Arnel's voice and he sounds great, he sometimes is just a little too 'crisp and clean and no caffiene' for me (like the early Perry stuff)...........IMO, Deen's vocals had more passion in their delivery than Arnel's.
