He isn't the one doing it. Its the fans stringing themselves along, waiting for something and getting pissed / sad / mad / depressed / annoyed when it doesn't happen.
Yes, I know... he has SAID things that may have ALLUDED to the fact the he MIGHT one day do something. But how is that really any different than anyone
else in music / tv / movies? Actors and musicians say shit all the time about doing this or that... For some reason, Perry has become this villian for doing something WE ALL do - sayng one thing and then doing another.
Maybe he'll release something. Maybe not. Relax and have a beer, everyone, its not worth losing one's mind over.
Complete bullshit. This guy sang the soundtrack to peoples' lives and he
knows it. That said, he hasn't been honest to himself, his bandmates, or his fans for the better part of 2 decades so I don't expect a sudden change in behavior. To this day whether or not he can still sing, and at what level, is pure speculation because he chooses to play shell games with the truth. Playing with the heartstrings of fans is deplorable. He's played the sympathy card at every turn. Whether it was not feeling like part of the band, his hip, or not being able to go back and remaster old concert stuff because it was "too painful", this guy has been a fucking whiner for 20+ years. What I see is a nearly 60 year old man that has lived a life most people
dream about. He has been gifted with seemingly perfect health, especially considering past indulgences, but you'd think he just returned limbless from Iraq judging by the self-pity in some of his interviews. This man has been
very blessed. The only person that feels sorry for Steve Perry
is Steve Perry.
Be that as it may, my point still stands, and you've helped reinforce it... if you
know the guy
keeps saying it and not doing it, what's to get worked up over? Ok so he just recently alluded to it again... this is new how? He's gonna do what he's gonna do and that's it.
For anyone finding his behavior deplorable, they are absolutely free to walk away, expect nothing and discontinue support. No one is forcing anyone to hang on. I think Britney Spears is a deplorable sad irresponsible piece of shit who I
do not feel sorry for in the least, so I ignore her and her crummy excuses for records. Not that I'm comparing Steve Perry to Britney Spears - let's be clear. I'm just pointing out that the problems and arguments that spawn lie in the way people REact, not the way the stars act. Steve Perry isn't doing anything different (as far as the public is concerned) than he has since he left Journey.
As I've observed, his actions toward both his bandmates and fans that much different than the way the rest of them are. If we're going to demonize, there's plenty to spread equally here.
