If Arnel could survive 2 to 3 hours of almost non-stop singing in a concert—perhaps a few minutes of “meet-and-greets” would not hurt his sleep regimen---much less his voice.
I've heard consistently that singers should talk as little as possible following a show if they want to treat their voice properly.

With his personality, I'd be very surprised if going to bed would be Arnel's personal choice.

That's a great tip
Sage is super medicinal
Interesting.
Hadn't really thought of sage tea
but I have burned the leaves to cleanse the air
Ward off evil voice spirits & stale hotel odor

Honey is also great!
I'll have to try that
The old standby tea
which I love the taste of
is
Throat Coat.
Had Slippery Elm Bark
& a licorice flavor
as well as other things.
It really works very well.

I fully understand your point...but I believe that "a fan-friendly guy" doesn't have to "get sick all the time"---given proper precautions.
that is simply based on your immune system. Due to travelling, motels, constant changes in weather and humidity, lack of sleep, stress and everything else that goes along with touring, your immune system is going to be decreased. If you are running at less than 100%, all it takes is one sneezing, sniffling, coughing fan backstage to breathe on you, and then you or someone else in the band gets the cold. Then, the entire band gets sick, and you have the perfect buildup to losing your voice--and that is without the the added curse of some people (like me) who get laryngitis at the first sign of a cold, and there goes the high range which can take days to weeks to recover.
There's a lot more at risk to a singer than some would expect.

Thanks, kgdjpubs. I see your point---with some caveats. This may be a stretch….but I believe one becomes immune to something by slow exposure to the same thing for prolonged periods of time. I believe that sometimes if you “sanitize” too much, i.e., overdo it, the more you become susceptible to illness...striking a balance may not be bad idea. Airborne virus is everywhere, anyway!

Does that mean I need to run the vacuum more often to get the dog to quit being afraid of it?

You can buy Sage teabags here in the UK. They work just as well, and no chance of getting confused with illegal herbs.![]()
And not as messy when you are touring.
I bet you can buy them in the US, too.
