The thing is, it wasn't even the pledge of allegiance, but the national anthem.
And that said, plenty of footage exists of Obama having his hand over his heart in the past.
This is more smear shit like the Obama book quotes posted on this forum that turned out to have been doctored.

Obama muslim? Riiiiight. Raised Christian and somehow he's muslim. Next thing we know people will be calling me a closet Buddist or something

McCain good for the military? Shit if he follow's Bush's lead then god help the military. Bush's crew already screwed the pooch with the Iraq strategy (if you're going to attack, attack with great enough numbers and plan for the worst after you topple a government). On top of all that we run a fiscal policy that triggers stagflation.

Obama? Tax the oil companys? Yeah right. The reason the oil prices are so damned high is that we are running frigging trade/budget deficits that force us to print more money and *gasp* cause inflation. Because of inflation, the dollar tanks. Dollar tanks, the oil goes up just on virtue of that since its traded in dollars. If someone had a clue, we would raise our short term rates back to 5%. Yeah it'll screw the economy, but inflation needs kept under control

The problem with republicans these days is they spend money like democrats, but they sure as hell don't care if we have the money to pay for all those checks they write.

McCain just as bad as Obama, but if you're going to diss either individual, at least get your fucking facts straight. Quit this Obama is a muslim or McCain isn't a war hero shit.

With all due respect to you my facts are straight. You dont know what you will have with obama within 2 years of being President. At least with McCain you sort of know what to expect and he is an American hero. obama scares the hell out of me.

See that's the thing. You know what you're getting with McCain and in my estimation isn't any good. With Obama, it's a gamble, but he could turn out to be a fantastic president. On the other hand maybe not, nobody knows. I'm not sure I want to cast a vote for someone I think is going to keep steering this country in the same direction it is in now, McCain, or for the unknown.

143 days of experience as a junior senator does not make a qualified presidential candidate. Would a first year staff attorney be promoted to general counsel of a corporation after 6 months on the job? That's the problem I see, policy aside.

Most of the programs he listed are antiquated or unproven at best.

Why were there no threads calling Bush an appeaser after recently negotiating a faustian bargain over in N. Korea?

If Bush used rendition to apprehend those people and sent them to an overseas CIA black site where they had no habeas corpus, how would you ever know?

Obama is within his right to do what he is doing.
The Washington Post even followed the "Pssst..Obama is a Muslim" emails back to ther source and it turned out to be none other than the FreeRepublic.com Conservative web site.
Unlike Kerry or Dukakis, Obama is not going to take this laying down.

Because then there wouldn't be so many people making said remarks and Bush's approval rating wouldn't be at an all time low, all those people would be taken away by the big bad CIA to a shadow facility and Bush would have a 100% approval rating. See, I'm not making Obama is a Muslim remarks and otherwise rumor mongering. Do you really think a conspiracy theory like this is any better than the people repeating unsubstantiated shit about Obama?

It's a scenario made frighteningly plausible by decisions like the Military Commissions Act.

Inflamatory Obama book quotes posted on this forum turned out to have been doctored, and the above-mentioned pledge of allegiance thing is false.
I haven't made anything out of whole cloth when it comes to defaming Bush. I don't have to.

All I did was plant a seed..... It's great to hear all of your opinions! I just wish (personally) that we had a damn decent conservative nominee to vote for. I'm so disqusted with my choices, that the ONLY reason I'm voting, is to choose the lesser of two evils.

To touch on what someone said earlier (can't recall who), but everyone does have the right to not put your hand over your heart during the National Anthem. I do believe though, that anyone who does NOT do so, should not be running for the Presidency of this nation! When I hear the National Anthem, I get goosebumps. I truly LOVE this country, and everything it (used) to stand for. I don't understand how anyone who wants to run this country would refuse to do his part to honor this country AND our National Anthem.

The lapel pin.......see my previous statements! How could someone wanting to be our president, not want to wear THE symbol of our country proudly??? If you democrats vote this man into office....it's going to absolutely destroy this country. I honestly believe so. Has Bush screwed up? HELL YES! He's my Commander In Chief, but he's done a LOT of damage the last couple of years.

I'm not pro-McCain either. I think Illegal immigrants should have to enter this country through the proper channels, just like all of our ancestors had to do to get citizenship. I don't give a DAMN how long they've lived in the US either...If they're here illegally, they should send their asses back to wherever they came from! They can THEN enter legally, and start paying some damn taxes like the rest of us! JMHO.

Carry on...

Well said Jim... the presidency is just like anything else, image matters a lot, and some of the gestures Obama has made (or neglected to make) are not becoming of a presidential candidate. Well said on everything else as well.

The chances of worldwide Nuclear disarmament are about the same as the chances we will reduce the national debt in our lifetime, or peace between Isreal and the rest of the Middle East........Zero, Zip, Nil. Obama says he wants to work toward that goal ? fine. As long as the other nuclear powers move towards that goal with us and this can be verified, Im all for it. complete disarmament isnt going to happen regardless of who is president.
Having a president who truly prefers peace would be a nice change of pace

Obama says he wants to reduce WASTEFUL military spending ? BRAVO !!!! We can have a strong military AND reduce wasteful spending. Assembling a non-partisan group to oversee this makes a lot of sense. Oh, and you are worried about the strength of our military ? I suppose you don't see Iraq-nam as a serious drain on our resources now, do you ? Our military is already weakened fighting an extended war that started because Junior wanted to finish what Senior couldnt......which has helped terroist groups recruit and become stronger in their hatred of us.

We could use a break from war in order to become stronger militarily, ask any Soldier on his 3rd, 4th or 5th tour of duty...I bet most would agree. Of course, McCain could solve that problem by reinstituting a draft

But I suppose you all could be right with your dire warning that America will be destroyed if Obama is elected.......after all, I was right 8 years ago about what our country would be like after a Bush presidency. ...except I thought maybe he could keep the cost of Gasoline in check, what with being an oil man and being so tight with the Saudi's.

The next President has a huge task cleaning up the domestic and foreign policy messes left behind regardless of who wins in November. I wish him, whoever he may be, lots of luck, cus he'll need it.

Some points from the "Anti-TNC"...

1. Obama is NOT the Antichrist and despite his repeated attempts to explain otherwise, Glenn Beck was NOT serious when he asked Reverend Hagee, "Odds that Obama is the Antichrist?" :D

2. Obama is not a Muslim. One thing Muslims don't do is deny their faith. If he was a Muslim, he would admit it. Denying one's faith in Islam is punishable by death.

3. Disarming America is a bad idea.

4. Obama won't destroy America as President. He won't be good for the country if he does what he says he will do but he won't destroy it.

Not so fast there...McCain is for cap-and-trade. Bad idea that will only serve to drive up oil prices even further. He's also two-faced on immigration. He may say he has changed his mind but, last I checked, he still had radical open borders advocates like Juan Hernandez working for his campaign. I also don't think he's legitimately changed his mind on tax cuts.

Feel free to start one. When you start calling out your own, maybe we'll talk about this.

Just proves my point that the antichrist meme actually carries legitimacy in some conservative circles.
I didn't say that because of Beck.
I've encountered it elsewhere - at work, on other radio shows, and now here.

Legitimacy? Hardly. Only a very few, Bible-ignorant morons really believe anything like this and they hold very little, if any, sway over anything.

Who cares? He doesn't HAVE to wear a flag lapel pin. It's not a test of patriotism. Personally, I can't stand Obama but I think the only reason other politicians wear those things is to APPEAR patriotic rather than actually BEING patriotic.

Unfortunately, that's not true.
