I just watched this last month! It's an exquisitely bad, but good, horror flick. They used real deformed people in the end. Some odd visuals throughout (Beverly DeAngelo, masturbating? Never thought I'd see that)

The ending still bothers me. She got screwed over!

i didn't under stand the ending as a kid but now I think I get it. Christina Raines's character becomes the new sentinel after she takes the cross from the previous sentinel and the priest. She becomes a nun to save her condemned soul after attempting suicide before and rejecting Christ. She has to become blind so not to see all the evil that surrounds her.

I've been stoked for this for a long time. Still saddens me to watch Heath Ledgers masterpiece before he ever got to. The role that possibly killed him will be the best for years to come..or so the talks are. 4 theaters and times already sold out ..even hours from now. I'm very excited for this one.

I have to admit, I'm just now getting anxious to see it. The F'n George Clooney Batman just ruined everything about the character for me. I didn't even bother seeing Batman Begins in the theater. Hopefully The Dark Night can erase that nightmare of Clooney from my mind. :?

Just found it too preachy and too long. Instead of the audience being allowed to "get it", everything was explained in minute detail. It should have been a half hour shorter. Plus there are other things that would be spoilers, so I won't go into them here.

So basically the opposite of my complaint with X3. That movie would spend 1 30 sec. scene on a major movie plot, and was about 30 minutes too short. Like I said, I'm going Saturday night so maybe I'll go over it after then. :D

Omg. Just... omg.

Just back back from seeing it with the fabulous Rhi and the also fabulous Mr. Rokken. :D

Heath Ledger RAN AWAY with that movie. My god but he was awesome!!!!
That made me all the more sad that he couldn't be here to see it or enjoy it. RIP, sir.

My one gripe: Christian Bale was not shirtless enough.
The two times he took the mofo off, they cut away. Me and Rhi was pizzed uff.

GREAT movie, and it was awesome to finally see what Heath Ledger did with the role -- just the short Joker clips I'd seen from previews weren't enough to really wow me, and I figured I just hadn't seen enough -- and I hadn't. He did a phenomenal job!

I've been so short of sleep the past week, the last hour was real torture as I kept fighting nodding off. I never fell asleep, but it was pretty much a constant fight, where every few minutes my eyes would start to shut. I'll definitely see it much earlier in the day and after a good rest next week.

There were many surprises in the film, and some story arcs that I'd understood were supposed to be short had much more too them, and that was excellent.

Instantly one of the best films ever made.

Made me proud to have Chicago(land) as my (new) home. Loved hearing the trains in the background of some scenes. Maybe it felt more real to me because in many scenes I was seeing things I'd seen with my own eyes, watching Batman race down a street I drive on. Etc...

Anyhow... Heath was simply amazing. Several times I was so wrapped up in it, I forgot where I was, who I was, or that I was actually in a cinema. Not enough Bale time... most of it was in the suit, which was not as sexually explicit as Batman suits of yore. Which kinda keeps it truer to purpose. I'm astounded. Best Batman ever. And until I can remember other movies exist, it's my favorite movie of all time.

And yes, was puzzzed off that the most chest action I got was a scarred up wounded view of the upper torso/shoulder area. Christian is the perfect specimen of male. Do want.

Yes, Ledger was incredible, but it was like Tom Brady playing with high school kids. He stood out too much.

I contest that YOUR statement is illogical. Odds DO come into play. If only one actor has ever been posthumously awarded an Oscar in 81 years, then the odds are DEFINITELY not is her/ his favor to get one. How is that illogical, Spock? My point was that some have argued that this is done everytime a well known actor dies. "Well, he or she died, so lets give em the Oscar!" I was simply pointing out that that's not the case...

We just got back from seeing it. As usual, the movie didn't live up to the hype for me. I was bored and anxious for it to be over. Heath Ledger was fantastic and I love what he did with the character, but this movie is not nearly as great as it should be for all the raving.

Best Batman Movie Ever....and I was never too keen on Begins.
As with Blade 1 and Blade 2, the less direct input Goyer has over a script, the better the outcome.
Repressively nihilistic and unremittingly neo-noirish, this Batman is likely to satisfy even Burton-purists who prefer their Bats served up with a baroque dose of the macabre.
Can't wait to see this again.

Burnt Offerings scared me more than perhaps any other movie that I remember. The Exorcist - not at all. I remember standing in line outside the theatre in freezing cold temperatures for at least a half hour, with fake ID, to get in. Was so relieved and pissed off when I finally did - maybe that distracted me from being scared!

Exactly. After so many twists and turns and stuff, for me after awhile I just stopped caring. In fact I just asked my wife a couple of minutes ago. "What ever happened to the Joker?" She couldn't remember either. We had both pretty much tuned out by then.
Iron Man was way better.

Iron Man was little more than your average cookie-cutter superhero flick - raised only by Downey's cheeky self-deprecating performance.
Dark Knight has redefined the modern comic book film as we know it.
