I told Jonathan Cain a few months ago I did NOT want to do a Journey (sounding) record, but something more organic and in line with the original material I write on my own...Believe it or not, what I'm going for with this project is basically a Non-Country Rascal Flatts/Keith Urban type sound, songwriting, and a Dann Huff-style production. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to be possible to break free from the Steve Perry sound, which is what led me to Frontiers to begin with. I guess the best thing to do is just stick with a more organic and modern production and keep the vocal similarities as limited as possible...
