I'm sure somewhere in his 10 pages or more contract there may be something that gives management the right to supercede him on anything they feel might be detrimental to the Band. One thing you should know by now about Journey (Steve Perry included) is that there are clauses and agreements for everything. Arnel is on a work visa, so it would not be to his benefit to break company policy regardless of how he feels about the situation.
Tell me something, 'bot...
How can they (both Azoff Inc themselves and their contractual clauses) forbid something Arnel's already doing?
Arnel's ALREADY spending up to an hour at a time online, answering questions freely, and these exchanges'
contents are being reproduced/published electronically several times/places on the web.
You're assuming these legal restraints exist and are actually enforced, but you don't have actual contracts in hand
to cite. I'm assuming the man has some autonomy, even while on tour, and I'm pointing at Arnel's ongoing online Q&A,
and fans' web-publication of the same, as my evidence.
Even
if Journey/Azoff have some bullshit hardon for Andrew (due to tapegate, due to Steve's Jon-baiting,
or because it's Azoff's fucking period this week),
we STILL have Arnel, on record, despite all the ugliness that
was got to run loose in here, saying that an interview with MR is going to happen. Just a question of when.
Cheers,

Andrew,
You've been told no,
but by management.
You have, on the other hand, also been told that Arnel himself is open to it.

Who is that "someone" going to be for you, Andrew?
Rip, MauiTom et al have already done a lot of the prep work, to the result that Arnel has, in principle, agreed to an MR interview.
You obviously can't now be requiring that Arnel himself reach out to you, before this interview can happen (LOL), therefore this
is what it seems to boil down to, for me:
If an interview heartily-approved by Journey management (and therefore Journey management's approval of you) is your objective,
then I can see how you could feel that you had indeed run your course for this thing. If, however, simply getting an interview with Arnel
out to the fans is your object, it's there to be pursued. If you still want it.
More power to you,
