With Arnel, he can say JUMP and Arnel will say , "How far," no pun intended.

Ask the Augeri fans why they are angry.
Ask the Soto fans why they are angry.
The guy who ain't there is not there because, when he had a medical condition, he said "You know, there's no going back", when they decided to go on without him. Ask his fans why they are angry.
Arnel may get lucky and retire with a gold watch and a lifetime supply of rerecorded Journey music.

"Divorces" are never easy. However, in this particular instance Journey and management were more than fair enough in waiting for Steve to get better and when it was obvious that the catalog had irreversible effects they decided to move on. Steve Augeri was a very professional singer and fulfilled his duties the best he could. He has nothing to gripe about nor do his fans.whirlwind wrote:Ask the Soto fans why they are angry.
The fact that Journey "annulled" this brief marriage was certainly within their rights. Soto was paid well, performed even better and was thanked for his services before being removed. Seems pretty by the book to me and anyone with a semblance of business sense.whirlwind wrote:The guy who ain't there is not there because, when he had a medical condition, he said "You know, there's no going back", when they decided to go on without him. They're certainly not angry because Perry recorded record after record after Journey decided to stop playing his shell games, that's for sure!!! The fact that he's released a grand total of zero records makes their decision to continue without the human monkey wrench the absolute correct one.

Hey Dr Phil.... I like your marriage comparisons up there,,,, and If I would agree with you on all your points above, would you in return give me a great reason why during the Augeri Marriage, Journey was cheatin on their ill wife and dating Soto ?

Whirlwind,
"What SJ didn't tell you was the fact that the band did try to contact Steve Perry and were unsuccessful."
Of coarse they were unsuccessful. What didn't SJ or Journey understand about the statement, "You know, there's no going back" to which Jon said, "I know."
People have got to stop giving Perry hell for not getting back with Journey when he made that statement and stuck to his word.

Saint John wrote:So what? I wouldn't mind if they were talking to him as we speak. The band has long maintained that he has an "open invitation" and all singers since have said they would understandably step aside upon his return.
Saint John wrote:Far too much band information and very personal information of particular band members was leaked...some onto this site. Turnabout is fair play, Greg. Not to mention Soto and his gaggle of fans showing up everywhere from soundchecks to dinners. Soto trusted a few too many people and they helped squeeze him out of the band by suffocating the other band members...at least that's the way I see it.
Saint John wrote:Steve Augeri himself knows his voice will never be the same and was asked if he'd like his position band long before Jeremey was considered. Several times, actually. He deferred. He's ok with what happened. You should be, too.

No, we don't. Perry was going to "win" either way. He was either not going to sing and see how long it took to the band to figure out that he just wanted to stop the Chalfant/Rolie lineup from taking off or he was going to become the sympathetic figure by appearing as if he was forced out with his "injury." The guy isn't dumb...doesn't mean he's honest, though. He had almost a year and a half to decide whether or not he was going to have the surgery and still didn't have an answer for them. Try asking the same of your employer. See what happens.

Greg, I believe these are called analogies. They're quite common in the English language.![]()
Congrats on your 2 'skins getting into the HOF. My brother's a huge fan also.

Speculation, supposition and innuendo. Never having been a vocalist who worked nearly every day for ten or more years straight, I[was not able to read his mind, but I could understand his actions and will give him the benefit of the doubt.

He needs to work on the analogies. Thanks man! I must say, I cried during Darrell Green's speech!
