--No, not kidding you. Pittsburgh IS in fact known as the City of Champions that was formed mostly during the 70's. They won the Superbowl in 1974, 1975, 1978, 1979.. and the fifth in 2005. The Pirates also won the world series the same year the Steelers won the Superbowl in '79 and only a decade later The Penguins winning back to back cups in '91 and '92, hence..the most dominating era in sports.
You are fucking retarded! You should pose as the poster child for being young and stupid. You're lumping the 70's together, with the 90's, and 2005 and calling it "the most dominating era in sports"???? Jesus, you're a fucking moron! As I said to you in a previous post...get your sorry ass into college and educate yourself. If you actually have a college degree, I'd inquire with your alma mater about getting a refund, because it was clearly four wasted years! The Boston Celtics winning 12 championships in 13 years will FOREVER be "the most dominating era in sports". There is NO other team who comes close to that record, and there is also NO other city in America who can claim that many championships, if they count all of them for EVERY team in their city. Just for perspective, the Celtics won 5 more championships in 13 years than the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins, combined, in 31 years! Game, Set, Match! I think "city of champions" is as gay as calling yourself "America's Team", so I'll NEVER refer to Boston with such a goofy monniker. That said, Boston at least could lay claim to it, considering that within the past 7 years, 3 of Boston's 4 sports teams have won 6 championships! That's an "era"!

You never cease to amaze me with the non-sensical sentences you put together in thread after thread. I don't even know what this sentence means, because it's incongruous.

The Pirates will forever be dust in the wind, due to shitty management. The only thing we do agree on is that baseball should absolutely have a salary cap!
YoungJRNY wrote: --What you have just said puts you in the jackass hall of fame as an automatic hater. Can't argue stupidity on this one. Whatever you are drinking in the Boston waters.. needs to be seriously examined because you are one fucked up individual that likes to smell his own farts while he talks. Talking to a Psychiatrist should be taken higher into consideration.
Listen 12 year old...I actually saw Lemieux play his entire career. You read about it in books. As I said, he was a GREAT offensive player. He was also 6'4" and almost 240lbs, which was unheard of during Lemieux's era! He was an enormous player, and a man among boys. He should have used his body A LOT more than he did! As someone who grew up playing hockey and is also 6'4", I understand the physical nature of hockey. Mario never quite grasped that concept. Keep in mind that I never once said Mario didn't belong in the HOF or said he was a shitbum. I simply said he was overrated from the respect that he was a VERY one-dimensional hockey player. I'd take Jagr's game over Lemieux's game all day long!
YoungJRNY wrote: Since the salary cap era, you will NOT find a teams record regarding wins and losses better than the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers W/L records dominates the NFL since the salary cap era hit the league in '94. .
This comment proves once again that you know absolutely NOTHING about sports. The NFL's salary cap began with the 1994 season. Since 1994, the Steelers wins per season are as follows: 12, 11, 10, 11, 7, 6, 9, 13, 10, 6, 15, 11, 8, 10, for a total of 139 wins and one championship. The Patriots wins per season since 1994 are as follows: 10, 6, 11, 10, 9, 8, 5, 11, 9, 14, 14, 10, 12, 16, for a total of 145 wins and 3 championships! I wasn't a math major in college, but even I can figure out that the Steelers absolutely, positively, do NOT have the best NFL record in the salary cap era. Just because you claim something doesn't mean it's factual. It's simply another example of your young, mindless ass making up shit, simply because you happen to be from the city! Again, if you're going to debate me, at least know what the hell you're talking about, dope!

Yeah...Bill Romanowski was the downfall of the Raiders! The dude played for the Raiders for only one full season, so I'm quite sure that he's pretty far down on the list for being the reason of the Raiders demise!
John from Boston
-- I am not lumping any years. I understand the argument and it's a provided fact in history that Pittsburgh is indeed known as the "City of Champions" and the city forever earned that right given the dominance for decades..mostly in the 70's and ever since then has been competitive for championships year in and year out. I or anyone else for that matter really don't give a fuck other than the city of Boston how many championships the Celtics won. Really, it's a non debatable subject since Pittsburgh doesn't invest in a professional basketball team. Besides, basketball is a piss poor sport next to baseball in every sense of the word and serves no purpose to America other than a bad entertainment ploy. Baseball and Basketball's reign in pro sports has forever been violated compared to it's yester years.. but that doesn't escape the success the Celtics has experienced. Congratulations on that and here's a cookie. No one gives a rats ass.

-- Listen old man.. I might not be as old as you are and might not be as miserable as you are..but I live in Pittsburgh and have seen all the games I could of watched with Lemieux at the helm. The guy was phenomenal and to watch some of the plays he made and for me to double take at the T.V screen and learning that the human body can bend ways that some thought it could never bend ..I couldn't believe my eyes. With you saying that Mario was OVERRATED given his style of play just boggles my mind. Regardless of his style and how he approached the game, he put the puck in the net and is marked as one of the worlds greatest athletes for a reason. You just like to hear yourself argue.. but I guess that's what happens when people get old..they turn scrooge.

-- Correct.. forgive me for my ignorance .. I am wrong about this and questioned my own statements regarding this argument. It's really a care-less mistake and I should of been on the top of my game to battle the big and bad John From Boston who thinks he knows everything about everything. I will not be giving you my lunch money because #1. You are a miserable person #2. You are in serious need of pussy and # 3 You are arrogant and cry like a little bitch when someone disagrees with you #4. You're a moron from Boston who needs the shit beat out of him on a daily basis... and #5 I got my thought process mixed up with two similar situations. I did the math as well and I stand corrected.
--What I should of stated was that you will not find one team since the NFL MERGER in 1970 with a better W/L record other than the Miami Dolphins and my Pittsburgh Steelers. The Grid reads as follows.
Wins since the NFL Merger- 1970-2008:
Pittsburgh Steelers 352-231 Superbowl Record: 5-1; Postseason Record: 28-18; Division Titles:-18
Playoff Berths: 23 Winning Pct: .603 Ties: 2
Miami Dolphins 354-228 (Given how bad Miami is compared to Pittsburgh team and organization wise today's day in age, Pittsburgh should over take this title the next couple of weeks.)
Dallas Cowboys 347-237
Denver Broncos 339-239
-
-
-
-
New England Patriots 303-281 Superbowl Record: 3-3 Playoff Record 20-12 Division Titles- 10- Playoff Berths-15
Winning percent .519 ties 0
Translation: Since the NFL merger in 1970, The Pittsburgh Steelers will soon be KINGS of the NFL considering Wins and losses and Championship wins. When it all comes down to it..it's all about winning. And the Steelers will eventually own all 31 teams in this category...hence the CITY OF CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for Bill Romanowski, I didn't say he was the downfall...he was just the first of many scumbags to come to mind!
I am done with you...you can have the last word because this will forever go back and forth. Whenever someone asks "Who's your daddy" Your answer will be : "YoungJRNY' You will always be my bitch..no matter how you manipulate or say otherwise.
HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!
