I hate the Lions. Have since I can remember. I've been a Raiders fan since '76 before I can remember. I do love reading about the Lions losing though. My favorite quote is from a guy here named Michael Rosenberg who was writing about the Lions faint playoff hopes towards the end of last year. He wrote, "The Lions are still alive for a playoff birth, but it's like the way the lobsers are still alive in the seafood joint"

Well, Andrew is a HUGE Bengals fan. So nobody had better fuck with Cincinnati.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Pittsburgh was once city of champions and still has that common consistence of winning. Obviously baseball has been ruined in today's day in age and without a salary cap and the Bucco's will never ever win another pennant. EVER. EVVVER. We DO groom players like Nady, Bay, Giles, Kendall, etc. to experience trades with other teams so those good players could be apart of a winning organization.

Hockey actually went on strike a couple years and they are back to being a respectable franchise. The Pens are legendary to the sport with players such as Mario and Crosby coming out and won 2 cups in the 90's while maintaining a competitive edge. The future of hockey lies in Pittsburgh, setting up many years of excitment for Pittsburgh hockey.

The Steelers I don't even have to talk up. The team speaks for itself and everyone knows my stance. Diehard. Since the salary cap hit the NFL along with free agency, no other than the Steelers has experienced the most success during that time period. City of Champions could be reborn.

The Raiders were actually one of the scariest teams of this decade..until Jon Gruden left and took charge in Tampa. After that it's been organization turmoil and has been a joke ever since. Callahan was the most embarrassing. Guys like McFadden and Russell NEED to uplift this team or it'll be more downhill spiral for Oakland... Or until Al Davis dies.

Are you freakin' kidding me???? "City of Champions"???? Perhaps in your own mind. The reality is that the Pirates rank up there with the LA Clippers, Raiders, Boston Bruins, et. al. as one of the worst franchises in sports! The Pirates haven't won a World Series or a pennant since 1979 (which means before you were even born)! Furthermore, they have one of the worst win/loss records in the majors, over the past 20 years! When you're a city who only has 3 professional teams, you can't act like one of them doesn't exist, just because it doesn't buttress your argument!

YoungJRNY wrote:Obviously baseball has been ruined in today's day in age and without a salary cap and the Bucco's will never ever win another pennant.

The only problem with your argument are teams like the Minnesota Twins and Oakland A's. Although the A's are horrible this season, they are consistently a contender, with one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. The Twins have even a lower payroll and are contenders again this season, even after watching Johan Santana leave for the Mets!

YoungJRNY wrote:Hockey actually went on strike a couple years and they are back to being a respectable franchise. The Pens are legendary to the sport with players such as Mario and Crosby coming out and won 2 cups in the 90's while maintaining a competitive edge.

The Penguins have had some great teams, but Mario was the most overrated player I ever saw. It's simply inexcuseable that a guy as huge as Lemiux was could never hit anyone or take a hit! He was WAY too soft of a player and way too one-dimensional. I will never deny he was an offensive machine, but it began and ended there! One other point...nobody gives a shit about hockey in most of this country. It has always been in 4th place, in terms of popularity, and at this point, redneck jackoff activities like NASCAR have probably moved way ahead of hockey, in terms of their fanbase!

YoungJRNY wrote: The Steelers I don't even have to talk up. The team speaks for itself and everyone knows my stance. Diehard. Dude...I think you need to be "reborn". You once again prove you know NOTHING about sports. The NFL implemented their salary cap in 1994. Since that time, the Steelers have won ONE single championship! Denver has won two championships in the salary cap era and Dallas and New England have both won 3. How that brings you to the conclusion that the Steelers have "experienced the most success during that time period" is beyond any logic and belies what the facts are!

YoungJRNY wrote: The Raiders were actually one of the scariest teams of this decade..until Jon Gruden left and took charge in Tampa.

One of the scariest teams of this decade??? What the hell are you smoking??? The facts are that the Raiders, under Gruden, had back to back 8-8 seasons. When Gruden got them to the playoffs, they didn't make it out of the division once, and didn't make it out of the conference with the next crack he had. They finally went to the Super Bowl the season Gruden went to Tampa and proceeded to get smoked by Tampa. The Raiders are indeed "one of the scariest teams of this decade" but for the opposite reason that you're suggesting. They're scary, because over this past decade, they have been one of the worst teams in the NFL!

YoungJRNY wrote: The Steelers I don't even have to talk up. The team speaks for itself and everyone knows my stance. Diehard. Since the salary cap hit the NFL along with free agency, no other than the Steelers has experienced the most success during that time period. City of Champions could be reborn.

--No, not kidding you. Pittsburgh IS in fact known as the City of Champions that was formed mostly during the 70's. They won the Superbowl in 1974, 1975, 1978, 1979.. and the fifth in 2005. The Pirates also won the world series the same year the Steelers won the Superbowl in '79 and only a decade later The Penguins winning back to back cups in '91 and '92, hence..the most dominating era in sports.

--Of course you'll have a team benefit and play well as a unit year in and out from a management point of view during low payroll seasons.. Sadly, low market teams get hosed and an organization like the Pirates will forever be just a dust in the wind due to the overwhelming business and that's life without a salary cap.

--What you have just said puts you in the jackass hall of fame as an automatic hater. Can't argue stupidity on this one. -- Since the salary cap era, you will NOT find a teams record regarding wins and losses better than the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers W/L records dominates the NFL since the salary cap era hit the league in '94. Dan Rooney is the most respected owner in all of business and it sure carried over the team for quite some time. Since '94 to '07 we've had 11 winning seasons (9-7 in '00 and 8-8 in '06 with a banged up team) out of 14 including making the playoffs 9 times and been to 5 AFC championships, winning 1.. and 2 Superbowl's winning 1. And during that time having one coach to do this all from '92-'06. I say that's a pretty good track record and I'll take it against any team head to head..ANY DAY!

--Correct, and let me correct MYSELF. What I meant to say was that Oakland was looking like one of the scariest team that could carry through the decade but once Gruden left it all went down hill from there. That organization went from feared to flat-line. Nonetheless I love every second of the turmoil since they were always known for possessing criminals and scumbag DIRTY players who should of spent time behind bars...Bill Romanowski is the first to come to mind.

You are fucking retarded! You should pose as the poster child for being young and stupid. You're lumping the 70's together, with the 90's, and 2005 and calling it "the most dominating era in sports"???? Jesus, you're a fucking moron! As I said to you in a previous post...get your sorry ass into college and educate yourself. If you actually have a college degree, I'd inquire with your alma mater about getting a refund, because it was clearly four wasted years! The Boston Celtics winning 12 championships in 13 years will FOREVER be "the most dominating era in sports". There is NO other team who comes close to that record, and there is also NO other city in America who can claim that many championships, if they count all of them for EVERY team in their city. Just for perspective, the Celtics won 5 more championships in 13 years than the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins, combined, in 31 years! Game, Set, Match! I think "city of champions" is as gay as calling yourself "America's Team", so I'll NEVER refer to Boston with such a goofy monniker. That said, Boston at least could lay claim to it, considering that within the past 7 years, 3 of Boston's 4 sports teams have won 6 championships! That's an "era"!

You never cease to amaze me with the non-sensical sentences you put together in thread after thread. I don't even know what this sentence means, because it's incongruous.

The Pirates will forever be dust in the wind, due to shitty management. The only thing we do agree on is that baseball should absolutely have a salary cap!

Listen 12 year old...I actually saw Lemieux play his entire career. You read about it in books. As I said, he was a GREAT offensive player. He was also 6'4" and almost 240lbs, which was unheard of during Lemieux's era! He was an enormous player, and a man among boys. He should have used his body A LOT more than he did! As someone who grew up playing hockey and is also 6'4", I understand the physical nature of hockey. Mario never quite grasped that concept. Keep in mind that I never once said Mario didn't belong in the HOF or said he was a shitbum. I simply said he was overrated from the respect that he was a VERY one-dimensional hockey player. I'd take Jagr's game over Lemieux's game all day long!

This comment proves once again that you know absolutely NOTHING about sports. The NFL's salary cap began with the 1994 season. Since 1994, the Steelers wins per season are as follows: 12, 11, 10, 11, 7, 6, 9, 13, 10, 6, 15, 11, 8, 10, for a total of 139 wins and one championship. The Patriots wins per season since 1994 are as follows: 10, 6, 11, 10, 9, 8, 5, 11, 9, 14, 14, 10, 12, 16, for a total of 145 wins and 3 championships! I wasn't a math major in college, but even I can figure out that the Steelers absolutely, positively, do NOT have the best NFL record in the salary cap era. Just because you claim something doesn't mean it's factual. It's simply another example of your young, mindless ass making up shit, simply because you happen to be from the city! Again, if you're going to debate me, at least know what the hell you're talking about, dope!

Yeah...Bill Romanowski was the downfall of the Raiders! The dude played for the Raiders for only one full season, so I'm quite sure that he's pretty far down on the list for being the reason of the Raiders demise!

-- I am not lumping any years. I understand the argument and it's a provided fact in history that Pittsburgh is indeed known as the "City of Champions" and the city forever earned that right given the dominance for decades..mostly in the 70's and ever since then has been competitive for championships year in and year out. I or anyone else for that matter really don't give a fuck other than the city of Boston how many championships the Celtics won. Really, it's a non debatable subject since Pittsburgh doesn't invest in a professional basketball team. Besides, basketball is a piss poor sport next to baseball in every sense of the word and serves no purpose to America other than a bad entertainment ploy. Baseball and Basketball's reign in pro sports has forever been violated compared to it's yester years.. but that doesn't escape the success the Celtics has experienced. Congratulations on that and here's a cookie. No one gives a rats ass.

-- Listen old man.. I might not be as old as you are and might not be as miserable as you are..but I live in Pittsburgh and have seen all the games I could of watched with Lemieux at the helm. The guy was phenomenal and to watch some of the plays he made and for me to double take at the T.V screen and learning that the human body can bend ways that some thought it could never bend ..I couldn't believe my eyes. With you saying that Mario was OVERRATED given his style of play just boggles my mind. Regardless of his style and how he approached the game, he put the puck in the net and is marked as one of the worlds greatest athletes for a reason. You just like to hear yourself argue.. but I guess that's what happens when people get old..they turn scrooge.

-- Correct.. forgive me for my ignorance .. I am wrong about this and questioned my own statements regarding this argument. It's really a care-less mistake and I should of been on the top of my game to battle the big and bad John From Boston who thinks he knows everything about everything. I will not be giving you my lunch money because #1. You are a miserable person #2. You are in serious need of pussy and # 3 You are arrogant and cry like a little bitch when someone disagrees with you #4. You're a moron from Boston who needs the shit beat out of him on a daily basis... and #5 I got my thought process mixed up with two similar situations. I did the math as well and I stand corrected.

--What I should of stated was that you will not find one team since the NFL MERGER in 1970 with a better W/L record other than the Miami Dolphins and my Pittsburgh Steelers. The Grid reads as follows.

Wins since the NFL Merger- 1970-2008:

Pittsburgh Steelers 352-231 Superbowl Record: 5-1; Postseason Record: 28-18; Division Titles:-18
Playoff Berths: 23 Winning Pct: .603 Ties: 2

Miami Dolphins 354-228 (Given how bad Miami is compared to Pittsburgh team and organization wise today's day in age, Pittsburgh should over take this title the next couple of weeks.)
Dallas Cowboys 347-237
Denver Broncos 339-239
-
-
-
-
New England Patriots 303-281 Superbowl Record: 3-3 Playoff Record 20-12 Division Titles- 10- Playoff Berths-15
Winning percent .519 ties 0

Translation: Since the NFL merger in 1970, The Pittsburgh Steelers will soon be KINGS of the NFL considering Wins and losses and Championship wins. When it all comes down to it..it's all about winning. And the Steelers will eventually own all 31 teams in this category...hence the CITY OF CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for Bill Romanowski, I didn't say he was the downfall...he was just the first of many scumbags to come to mind!

I am done with you...you can have the last word because this will forever go back and forth. Whenever someone asks "Who's your daddy" Your answer will be : "YoungJRNY' You will always be my bitch..no matter how you manipulate or say otherwise.

HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!
