Anyone dissing Perry, or any other celebrity for that matter, for this
type of venture is a COMPLETE ASSCLOWN!
I can tell you that, while deployed to places like Iraq and Afghanistan,
there are few things more uplifting than getting mail from home
and the rare occasions that celebrities/bands visit on the USO tours.
It is incredible. And if you read recent blogs from bands like Sevendust
and the like, they will tell you that the trips were jusrt as rewarding for them.
Fortuneately, I haven't been injured in combat. But I can imagine what it must be
like and I would imagine that these types of visits, whether there is PR involved or not,
are HUGE moral boosters for those brave men and women...
BTW, if some of you think these "troops" are too young to even know who Perry is,
think again

Most of the younguns I work with are metalheads, rednecks and rap-fans
but you'd be surprised at how many know of bands like Journey. There is a reaosn
the the GH album is still a huge seller and it isn't us old-timers buying copies to replenish
our stashes in case of nuclear war
