Ah just curious huh?? Try Alimony and child support.epresley wrote:What do y'all think continues to motivate Journey to tour and/or release new music? The have made millions over the years, so undoubtedly, they don't need the money, but maybe still LIKE making more. Is it the enjoyment of "the road"? Is it a need to still create music? Does Steve Perry not have those same needs? Even still, after Journey having such a successful tour, I can understand it a lot more than say, Kansas, Styx, BOC, Molly Hatchet, etc. that are playing to a fraction of the audiences they once were, but keep on touring. Loverboy played here in San Angelo, Texas and drew 250 people. You would think that would hardly be worth the drive out to West Texas!!!!!!!!!!!
Just curious--
What a stupid fuckin' post. Neal has more than enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his days. Try that the dude loves what he does and the road is the only place he knows.journeywoman wrote: Ah just curious huh?? Try Alimony and child support.

I'm gonna be so bummed after my college season ends in the spring, because that's pretty much the end of my athletic career at a high level for the rest of my life. If I had the chance to do it at that level til I died, you bet I would.

exactly. why retire? what's he gonna do? teach Jr. high guitar lessons?? play the nursing home circuit??he's not NEARLY ready for that. 50ers have a good 30 years ahead of them--what have you done in 30 years? a LOT!!! that's a freakin long time.
plug him in, prop him up on stage til he's dead and prop us up in the audience til we're dead. pretty simple, really.
please save the cracks about his personal finances and obligations--that's not nice. and not our business. and we REALLY don't know him well enough to know his situation. shhh

I think another band is already doing that for Keith Richards. So we know it works!

Good post. I'll tell you what, though. You will find something to replace that "high level" of competitiveness if you look hard enough. After college I thought my sports days were done too. I had played organized baseball forever and now it was gone. However, I started playying 12 inch softball and it rekindled my interest almost immediately. Look hard enough, you'll find it.
As this specifically relates to Neal; I played 4 games of softball yesterday and I could hardly fucking move afterward. Had this been at my job I would have been cussing in my sleep last night...but it wan't. It was the result of doing something I love and wouldn't trade those aches and pains for anything, and I doubt Neal would either.

No. I was too embarrassed to even be seen at one.

What embarrasses you about this incarnation of Journey?
