we get new music from The Voice, how do you think he would go about getting it to us?
He no longer has Columbia/Sony contracts, so do you think he would go the way of Journey and the Eagles and do the Wal Mart type thing?
Or do you think he would go to a smaller label with it, or just start his own label? Lots of options for him these days.
Also, do you honestly think a new SP release would sell as much as the Journey's latest has?(without the two disc BS). I mean FTLOSM went gold quickly and slowly got to platinum, I wonder how much his fanbase and the Journey fanbase would actually buy. This is all assuming he wouldn't "tour" in a conventional way, but would maybe do some spotted shows in support of the release.
Now, please don't respond with the same tired "he'll never do this" response, because we don't know for SURE that he will, but there are signs that it could. I'm talking about, if it DOES happen.
On a final note, I often wonder what it would be like to hear the 1978 SP sing Faithfully, Why Can't This Night Go On Forever, or Don't Be Down On Me Baby. And to hear the Frontiers/TBF SP sing Pateintly or Homemade Love type stuff, which he would have to approach differently. Whatta ya think?
No way Steve would redo his old work! SP's work always reflects his life experience at the time it's put out....
So, the new music might be titled: Avoidance! The Runaway Years
Featuring collaborations with aging pop icons of the 80's with SP backups in a raspy rap "Someday, Baby..... I'm working on it....Hold on baby". Fans begging, groaning, sighing, interspersed with Steve's raspy breathing.....
Solo cut: Silence to the instrumentation of Go Away
Probably sell well.
