I've never even had to wait outside the building before. Finally, they came out about 10 minutes later and announced that now 2 of the machines were working. I finally got to vote around 7:10 and all the machines were working by then.
I think it's awesome that so many people were out to vote! Any other stories?
Do you have early voting in your state? And can you get an absentee ballot for no good reason, just that you dont' want to wait in line? We can in Florida. After the Bush/Gore election, they changed a lot of things to make it better. They said in our county (Orange County) alone that 45 % of registered voters had already voted by other means so they expect shorter lines today. The lines for early voting were 2 hour waits because there are less places you can go to vote than on election day.
Get rid of early voting too.
