Unfortunately, I think Sarah Palin ruined all hope of that happening. I was leaning towards Obama for most of it, but was still somewhat undecided... up until she showed up and basically ruined most of the respect I used to have for McCain.

After paying for the groceries and heating cost, let me now how it compares to what you're paying in Chicago. 1,200 dollars might sound nice but I think it's more to offset the prices up there which, like Hawaii, are a bit higher than prices in the continental U.S.

I'm just guessing you are or were in the military, and I have no clue who you voted for, but if it was Obama, how do you feel about him becoming Commander In Chief with zero military service or experience? I've always been curious about this since I grew up an Air Force brat, I have lived overseas, etc. It's always amazed me that military service is not a requirement to even run for President, let alone become President. I know my father feels the same way, just curious to hear other military member's opinions

George W Bush really didn't serve either(was technically signed up for the Alabama Nat'l Guard where he spent a few weekends playing "go fish" and doing coke, and happened to miss the one weekend where physicals were conducted in order to get some pilots ready for combat), and look at his foreign policy record. You say you were an AF brat. Congrats, as your papa must be smart. The AF is where smart guys go. The Army sucked, I can tell you that first hand, and the Marines are even worse. The Navy and AF is where the flyboys hang, score tons of hot chicks and get to stay away from close range up close gun fire for the most part. My 18 yr old son told me last year that "an Army guy talked to him on campus at his high school" and he was thinking about going in. I told him, "the holy fuck you are. Not under this corrupt motherfucker in this bullshit war you're not." Needless to say, I won that argument, hands down.

Having military experience I think is a good thing though. John Kennedy, and George H W Bush were two guys who had good military backgrounds and had exemplorary military ops while in office. Much is who you surround yourself in Office with. W had Colin Powell. He is obviously very bright and knows his shit about military ops. I hope BO asks him to be Sec Def.

Dude even the Air Force, isn't safe anymore. My coworker's son went over to Iraq as a Fireman. They turned around and had him driving trucks down the Kirkuk and Airport highways of Death. Obviously SOS, PJ's and certain Air Force jobs require you to be in the line of fire, but a fucking Fireman? My Grandfather died in Korea, My father and uncles served in Vietnam (all jarheads), I was in AFSOC. Reporting from Phoenix -- Sarah Palin left the national stage Wednesday, but the controversy over her role on the ticket flared as aides to John McCain disclosed new details about her expensive wardrobe purchases and revealed that a Republican Party lawyer would be dispatched to Alaska to inventory and retrieve the clothes still in her possession.

Tensions have simmered for much of the last month between aides loyal to McCain and those loyal to Palin, but they boiled over after the Republican nominee's defeat, as both sides spoke freely -- though anonymously -- about the wardrobe controversy and other conflicts.

Two aides to McCain and two to Palin discussed the tensions but asked that their names not be revealed, saying they were not comfortable speaking openly about internal operations.

The miscommunication and quarrels between the two camps lasted into Tuesday night, said McCain aides familiar with the situation. Palin arrived at the Arizona Biltmore planning to deliver a speech before McCain's concession speech, they said, but was told by senior McCain aides Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter that it would not be appropriate.

Fox News reported Wednesday that Palin's lack of knowledge on some topics also strained relations. Carl Cameron reported that campaign sources told him Palin had resisted coaching before her faltering Katie Couric interviews; did not understand that Africa was a continent rather than a country; and could not name the three nations that are part of the North American Free Trade Agreement -- the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Yes of course there are some suckholes who will take any handout given, but on the flip side, there are many like Obama himself, who just need a chance to excel. Make the playing field level is what he is going to do. Of course the have's aren't going to like that, because the Have's need the Have Not's to remain powerful. Very simple this capitalism stuff.
