Another GH, eh? I'm sorry but... why? (its obviously not for the reason I would think if it were any other artist...) There was GH, then a reissue of GH... now... more GH? Sony is really starting to piss me off.  I didn't fall for Essential 3.0 so I think they're trying to get me another way.

A different collection of songs than the previous GH? What other GH did he have? There's only so many ways you can make meatloaf and try to pass it off as salisbury steak.

Perhaps his next release could be his Greatest Liner Notes. Sony is milking the shit out of him, but if there's a market for it then why not. I was recently told that Steve Perry is now only $32 away from having more money than God.

SERIOUSLY!!! How ridiculous is this? There better be at least a few new (well, actually old) unreleased tracks on there, though even then it would still seem to be a stupid idea since we just got ST/FTLOSM/GH re-released and re-remastered just two years ago.

I can feel the buzz I don't think I"ll feel the need to add SPLegacy to Myspace or
get another shuffled complilation even if they have new liner notes.

Everytime, I listen to that song I cry.......... Damn now i'm crying just thinking about it. maybe he doesn't wear his feeling on the outside; but wears them inside strong and most people don't understand a person like that; it makes it hard to feel like a part somethings at times; people don't understand that somethings hurt introverted people more than extroverted people. Introverted people either strike out in anger or withdraw when the pain become to great for them to manage, and being that the world is filled with more extroverted people who can't understand why introverted people can't seem to get it together; they then start slamming the introvert with painful heartbreaking words and unkind acts, thus causing even more pain and confusion for the introvert. The introvert may become weak and weary and withdraw even deeper into their protective shell; only associating with a select trusted few who they know won't hurt or harm them in anyway; verbally or physically. You can't force an introvert to come out in any manner you, you just have to wait until they can trust again if ever. :(

Sadly, that's not how the labels think. Fans of the band Chicago were treated to annual "greatest hits + two great new songs" derivatives in the 1990s and 2000s. It's resulted in a situation now where the first 20 Chicago albums are legitimate albums and legitimate greatest hits made up of the hits from those albums. Since then, you've got

21 - Studio album
22 - Cover album
23 - Greatest Hits compilation
24 - Greatest Hits compilation
25 - Cover album
26 - Live album
27 Greatest Hits compilation
28 Greatest Hits compilation
29 Greatest Hits compilation
30 Studio album
31 Greatest Hits compilation
32 Studio album

I've seen it all from labels. Same album, different cover. Original album + a few new songs thrown on. Original album renamed with a few new tunes.

Labels will milk till the end.

If Sony/Perry are smart, they'll offer a two disc set, one being a compilation of never before seen videos and/or video compilations for each song along with some interviews old and new. The key words here are "never before seen". . . Get out those old movies you took Steve!!! C'mon, do it!!!

I think most would be more likely to buy that ... especially since most of us already have the GH x 1 and 2 and 3 and ......... oh, you get what I mean

OK, I'd buy it even if it had videos I'd already seen.

This doesn't change one thing. I never said that he wouldn't be putting out a GH package and I never said the NEXT thing he released would be new music.

I just said that I KNOW that he has been working on new stuff and that it WILL be released, and I'm stilling willing to bet that it will. SOON.

Again, this GH release doesn't change any of the info that I've gotten. None of it said that he wouldn't be putting out a new GH as a pre-emptive strike.

Ever think that this would be a good way to set up comeback record? Wet the public's appetite and then hit them with new stuff. Have any of you naysayers really not thought of that? Hmmm......... C'mon guys, use your marketing skills. And he wouldn't put out stuff with him singing in his prime if he was concerned about how he'll sound now, would he?

I'm thrilled that the man is putting out a new GH package. Watch what happens after that, in the not very distant future.
I'll take the few nasty people saying I'm crazy and a liar right now and it doesn't bother me one bit. Because when I'm right, all that will matter is that we'll be getting new music from the greatest voice ever.

I'm a liar, I'm making stuff up, I'm crazy, blah, blah blah. OK. Pile it on. I've still get several people on this forum who are with me.

I undertand the doubt after so many years of rumors, but just because it hasn't happend, doesn't mean it can't now.

P.S. THIS WILL BE MY LAST POST ON THIS SUBJECT UNTIL THERE'S MORE NEWS. I'm not going to change the minds of some, and that's OK, and those people aren't going to change my mind. It'll happen or it won't and we'll see then.

I still say......WE'LL SEE

We ALL want to be with you on this, and take it as gospel, but you're dealing with people that are nothing but scar tissue from the many times we've been burnt in the past. Getting our hopes up only sets us up for a let down, so forgive us if we don't. If and when it happens, then we'll celebrate. ;)

You really think that? SMFP would NEVER have to do anything preemptively to whet the public's appetite for new stuff!

That's ok. Not much credibility to start with there anyway.

What the hell difference could that possibly make in comparison to what I might know?

So by fixing spelling errors and grammar stuff makes me non-credible?

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Like I said, don't worry about it because you won't have to read any of my posts on this subject until it's time(except to defend myself over something as stupid as being questioned about editing or deleting my posts. ) I'll do that everytime.
