If Missouri somehow wins it unfortuantley will be USC vs Florida/Alabama for the National Championship. There is an unwritten rule that you can't be in the National Champion game if you are not a conference champion, so unfortunately Texas (although beat Oklahoma) is out.

I believe it's a written rule now, brought on when Oklahoma lost to Kansas State in the Conference championship game and still advanced to the National Championship game (Where they got their rightful deserts from USC)

Ahem...

LSU beat OU for the National Championship that year... ;)

Carry on...

Yes, you did. What was that, 2004? It was kind of a low scoring game, but OU never had the upper hand in that game. LSU was great that year. It had been a long time for them.

2003...

And the last one before that was 1958...and then of course last year... ;)

My bad, I got confused by all the ass whuppin's OU was a part of.

USC and LSU were co-champions that year.

Really? What championship game did USC play in that year? :)

They didn't have to play in one, they won from being number one in the polls, the old fashion way (and they got pretty rings too).
Their BCS ring came the next year.

Number 1 in 1 Poll, a poll that had agreed, like the PAC10, that the BCS number 1 would be the National Champion... ;)

Florida can't handle the line of scrimmage. Alabama is too physical and Florida is getting dominated up front. Wear and tear, time of possession is going to be the game winner for Alabama.

The AP did award USC a national championship trophy, so it's not USC's fault. We'll give you that one though. 10 championships instead of 11, fair enough? :D

Right...and Pete Carroll didn't go whining to the media the day after the rankings came out either...

Honestly, I could care less...LSU has two Crystal Balls, to USC's one, but it is funny how people agree to the rules, but cry how unfair they are when it suits them... ;)

That 15 yard face mask was the last game changer.. they stop them there and it's 4th down.. tak on a 15 yard penalty and a 3 and out by Bama and there you have a 10 point lead by Florida. Florida's option- offense is the most sissified styled offense, but they can't stop it at critical moments. I guess that's what you get when you watch too much NFL and then watch a full game of SEC football

That face mask did change it I will agree but thats the breaks IT had nothing to do with their offense and your description of it.

YOu have to admit we got a pretty damn good defense as well

It will be interesting to see how we match up againt Oklahoma unless of some sort of meltdown

in thier game.
