If you stopped reading after the first sentence, how did you know about the steamrolled the Constitution part? Perhaps you wanted to stop after the first sentence, but couldn't, knowing what was to come and it was true.

my dad was a company man.first to arrive and last to leave on his shift at a twenty four hour tissue plant.he was the one who came in at 2AM when no one else would,the one worked thanksgiving,the one who got up under dangerous machinery when no one else would.i worked next door to him for a couple years and saw first hand the times he was sweating like hell while other workers were loafing around or hiding to avoid working.i told him one day he come over during his lunch break that that company was going to use him and spit him out and quit killing himself for these fuckers because they don't care.one day he called and told them he was having surgery and the next day for the first time due to traffic he was five minutes late and they fired him.well guess what my father has a bad back and just had major neck surgery and these fuckers fired him after all the times he came in when no one else would not to mention all the dangerous shit he was doing plus working 80 or 90 hour work weeks.i warned him not to wear himself out there and he did but my dad is an honorable man so he did what he thought was right.

I would never belittle the difficulties of starting and maintaining a buisness. I just wish some would remember what the climb was to the top, and take care not to squish the ones who worked hard as well, to make your buisness thrive.

Agree as well. I've had my own business now for just over three years. Most difficult, but at the same time most rewarding thing I've ever done.

If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, my reaction will be swift and simple. I fire you. I fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV, and your child's future. Frankly, it isn't my problem any more.

Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire. You see, I'm done. I'm done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be my citizenship.

I think he's addressing entry-level people more than anything. I can't tell you the amount of times I've seen the secretaries and what not in my department sitting there losing important documents, surfing the web shopping for clothes, talking on the phone, talking about the latest fad diet, and generally doing anything not resembling work. The guy is making a great point that would be much better communicated with a softer tone and better choice of words, but I understand what he's saying.

I also can't tell you the amount of times I've seen so-called executives giving other employees the shaft, backstabbing, and kissing ass to get ahead rather than just hard work. In my experience, there are about an equal percentage of hard workers, with the exception of the perpetually poor, at all levels. Each income level has its own inherent pitfalls that cause them to be less than what they should be.

The term "secretary" is archaic. They are called administrative (or executive) assistants. I can tell you without these individuals, an office (or the whole company) would come to a grinding halt. On the other hand, if it was HR's intention to fill these positions as entry level .... well, then you get what you paid for.

There's nothing wrong with the term "secretary" and I think it is often a better and more descriptive term. Regardless, secretaries are no less replaceable than any other employee.

Hate to tell you PC police, but it's not archaic at all. Maybe in your place(s) of work, but not in mine. Everybody from the secretaries themselves all the way to execs at the top use the term (and no one seems to take offense...). I would add that the ones that work in my department do, for the most part, a horrible job because they are ALLOWED to by the manager, an executive VP, so I'm not laying the blame strictly at their feet.
