That was cool! He doesn't sound "just like" Lou Gramm, he adds something a little different to the mix, which IMO is a good thing. That's exactly why I liked JSS fronting Journey.

Wow, Deb might turn into a Foreigner fan! :P  Kelly and Jeff Pilson are great. I kept expecting Kelly to forget he was on Ellen, and dance like he does in concert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDaK2cc1F9U

That was great to hear just the two of them do that performance (finally showed me one of the harmony parts). I'm starting to grow tiresome with the announcements of new material though without seeing any of it anytime soon.

I prefer to watch performances by bands I like when they're not sandwiched between ads for Mop 'N Glo and Summer's Eve.

Sorry, all of that head banging, flippiing his hair over and over gets on my nerves. Such a dated move.
I guess you can tell I'm not a huge Foreigner fan. I like some of their music, though.

This new singer from Foreigner, just doesn't have what Lou had - that's called raw talent, along with those extra gears, and that sound that made them famous, I never even heard of this guy before. And Hanson actually rates himself as if hes better, in the interviews Foreigner think they sound better now than they ever did, those dinosaurs have lost the plot with those kind of statements. Foreigner should of put this one to bed just like Journey should of, but in my opinion at least Arnel Pineda is a far better vocalist than the Rock singers out there... I'm done with the new Foreigner.

I also disagree. I honestly didn't know much about Kelly Hansen before his stint with Foreigner. That said, the dude is soooooo channelling Gramm on every note. I think he sounds more like Gramm than Pineda sounds like Perry. I think Hansen does a SUPERB job on the Foreigner classics. On another note, am I the only one who thinks that he and Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) could pass as brothers?

Man, I understand what you saying, and I am sure he does justice. Well you know the way I feel about this is the same way I felt about Journey, no different to when Steve Augeri joined the band. The problem I'm finding with Hanson is not his singing, he's a fine singer.

This one may sound crazy, but - that is why I think solo artists like Bryan Adams, John Farnham, and so on are still the best in the business and always will be, because those guys will never be replaced by wanna-be sound a likes. Foreigner can take a hike as far as I am concerned, unless Gramm comes back? which he probably won't, with the health thing and all, and that apparent falling out with the band. If it wasn't for the likes of Gramm and Perry - I think it's safe to say Journey & Foreigner would have had about the same amount of success as a fart in an elevator.

You ever hear the story of that asshole and myself in the middle of Planet Hollywood and PF Changs? That was a doozy. I would have ripped his fucking head off if there was a way I could avoid jail. Maybe St John can retell that or dig it up. He had a nice little write up on that episode.

Oh yes, I have lurked here for a long time and did read that. He loves to tell people not to show their faces at future shows. Been there, done that, too. I keep a pretty low profile, but I think it would be great to chat with you one day :)

No problem. Look forward to it. Throw some beers and talk about what an asshole JT is!

I read that story too - is JT their road manager and what is his problem? Based on what I read, he should be
unemployed. His behaviour is unprofessional and reflects badly on Journey - he's not doing them any favours
by alienating more of their fans.

I think the big difference between Augeri and Hansen is that Hansen can actually sing the Foreigner catalog the way it's supposed to be sung. Augeri could never quite do that with the Journey catalog. I love Lou Gramm and believe that he was every bit as unique as Perry. I just think that Hansen gets FAR closer to Gramm's sound than Augeri ever got to Perry's sound.
