As a former Deputy District Attorney, I can tell you that you aren't stalking unless it is REPEATED AND UNWANTED and Steve Perry is in FEAR
for his life or that of an immediate family member. You must have all the elements of the crime. But if you get caught stalking once and you
do it again, on the same person, in Oregon you get 18 months in prison, even with no prior criminal record. I;m sure the penalty in California is double that....
There must be some sort of contact, not just trying to contact. Repeated trespassing on private property comes to mind as contact as well.
So looners, unless you are on his doorstep and he comes out and says, "get out of here" and you show up again on the doorstep, you aren't stalking.
One time on the doorstep you might get away with. Two times, you will be looking at the prison walls............ :?

OMG are you seriously encouraging people to "creep" up as close to that line of the law that they can without crossing it?

No, I think what I was doing was discouraging them, stating that stalking is a serious offense that will land you in prison.........
I prosecuted MANY stalking cases and I wanted Loons to understand what it truly is and to let them know what they shouldn't be doing.
We have all kinds of movie stars in my town. Kirsti Alley, Steve Miller, Patrick Duffy, use to have Ginger Rogers and Jack Elam., but they are deceased as you know.
There are more, Rob Lowe owns about 2000 acres in Brookings. There are many more buying homes here all the time. I don't think loons who
want to learn more about Steve Perry on this forum are crossing any lines. Posting pictures of his family however, is probably something that should be discouraged here.
Certainly showing up at his doorstep would not be met with his loving arms, and I want it perfectly clear that I was not endorsing such a move. :? :?

How did this become a three page thread? Some of you chics seriously need to get laid. Go to Home Depot tomorrow. You'll probably see 6 or 7 dudes with a very vague resemblence to Perry, out front looking for work. Grab one of them and a bottle of tequila and you're all set. Turn off the lights and turn up the music. Then you can post a thread later about how it went.

From reading these posts, I guess now I know why Steve Perry is reclusive and keeps his whereabouts secret.

CREEPER Ginger - not CREEPY! Lol. Creepers are out there on the same branch as stalkers on the lunatic tree. Not necessarily dangerous, but definitely weirder! Well okay creepers can be creepy, too. I'm just waiting for someone to bust out a post that they have a small piece of fabric from something he once wore or a lock of his hair from 1979 that they sleep with under their pillow every night. :P

It's the people who have SMFP's birth certificate as their screen saver that got to me. When I heard that one, I felt a lot better about my loon/SPoon tendencies. Because I might be obsessed, but I'm not creepy obsessed!

Exactly! There is different levels of loonage. I'll be the first to admit I'm a full-on Martinized Soto Spoon when it comes to their vocals and performances. But I don't need to know or find out everything about their personal lives......and there are some that spend their own lives doing so. :? Those kind of fans kinda creep me out.

Did get a chuckle out of Gbots post though. Oh wait, I DO need some more furnace filters. Off to home depot I go.........hey you, over there, come with me.

Yes exactly, Deb... that's where it got too much for me... seeing the kind of things people talk about, like how they have to have one of those gold charms like his, and that they looked up his birth certificate... I probably had a little too much fun with some of the internet topics and stuff once upon a time, but then it started to weird me out and I quit doing it. More or less for me it was all about being funny, kidding around, but a lot of people don't stop at that, and I didn't want to participate that way anymore.

You mean to tell me there are people out there who have a copy of this man's birth certificate and are using it as their screensaver? Seriously? I'm all for a little light-hearted fun, but that is a flat out invasion of privacy. Even though the information is a matter of public record, that is way over the line. It really has a chillling effect.

If nude photos of Perry ever come out, especially from say 75-86, then they better issue flood warnings!

Actually, the concept of those photos ever surfacing kind of scares me. The reaction on the World Wide Loon would be just sickening.

I don't know of any 60 year old person I want to see naked< (everything and I mean everything is hanging on men just like on women.) Just the idea of seeing a 60 year old scrotum hanging down to his knees is killing me with laughter. Jesus Christ...................

OK, I'm gonna have to draw a line here in my Spoondom. Dude is hot, with his clothes on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know of any 60 year old person I want to see naked< (everything and I mean everything is hanging on men just like on women.) Just the idea of seeing a 60 year old scrotum hanging down to his knees is killing me with laughter. Jesus Christ...................

AREN'T YOU THE ONE THAT SAID...............
