Thats funny, I don't have the least bit of trouble reading and comprehending any of his posts. I don't agree with every thing he says, of course, but how he says it is perfectly clear. He is right that some do not stop long enough to really read what someone is saying sometimes or they see it with their own perception to what they think the person means instead of what that person actually says. I don't think the oness is on Gideon to " tone down" his mentality or vocabulary ..I think the responder should step it up if they want to debate him and take time to really read what he says before responding. If they are not up to the task then they always have the option to sit it out and not enter the debate. Of course it is an informal music chat board but when a topic that is debatable comes up then thats what he is doing..debating his viewpoints.. and he would like to keep it to the issue and not have words put in his mouth or for someone to go off in a tangent away from it. He shows more maturity on here then people twice his age or more. If someone gets upset because he has won on points then that is on them as well.

What you are really trying to say is you think G is too full of himself and is trying to show off...and that you've learnt better and stopped.... good way to prove it too by talking down and also telling your SAT score. and thanks for furthering the point of my discussion by saying that a lot of others don't read his posts...something you don't know as fact but are only assuming.

Hell, I once thought that with "When You Love A Woman." In terms of technical skills, it's not one of Perry's finest; but there was a certain vocal quality that made it nigh-untouchable. Arnel nailed it. And so I want him to practice his little ass off and try to tackle the greatest ballad of all.

There is ZERO comparison between the notes in "When You Love A Woman" and the glass-splitting notes at the end of "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever". I suspect Arnel probably does have the power in his voice to take it on. It's certainly not a coincidence that Schon hasn't dared have that song performed since Perry left the band. He knows full well that his collection of "replacements" had zero shot of tackling that song. Although Perry is superb on WCTNGOF, I don't think it's close to his best performance ever. For me, it will ALWAYS be "Mother Father". There isn't a song in the Journey catalog that illustrates Perry's untouchable brilliance more than that track.

I feel like Neal should have pulled out all the stops for the outro and he just didn't. It's a good song, but not my favorite Journey power ballad. Incredible vocals though, to be sure. And I really love the Neal solo after the first chorus.
