Thought about going to the midnight showing tonight but it was easier for all to do it the night of Friday the 13th proper. Jason looks friggin'' insane in this. I certainly hope this one lives up to the hype. Lately the prequel/remake/sequel craze has been outta control. But the work being done has been pretty good on a fair few.
My daughter and I really wanted to see "My Bloody Valentine 3D" as well but that one came out too close to my son's birth so we skipped it in favor of this one. No one else in the house likes horror movies so they are always the first ones to get axed (yeah, pun intended) from any movie plans.

I hear that (slight spoiler alert 3..2..1) it's re-capped in the opening credits.

Funny thing about the movie....In the original, Jason wasn't the kiler. His mother was...don't know how they are going to explain this. It is Called Friday the 13th, not Friday the 13th part (pick one the remaining 10)....![]()

From what I understand, the refer to the mom but do not include her. This is supposedly a composite of the first THREE Friday the 13th's.

God, I'm old.
And I am TAKING one of those "loud ass whipper snappers."

One thing about this new 3D format, it makes ALL scenes 3D...not just the specific moments designed to be 3D. When I watched Journey To The Center Of The Earth in 3D I was amazed at the depth to he "normal" scenes. (Too bad there is no depth for Brenden Frasier's acting!!)

They're improving slowly but surely.
Digital cartoons like Beowulf or the recently released claymation Coraline work better in 3d than live action.
James Cameron has been working on a new live action 3d flick for a few years now.
Each time he makes a flick, he seems to bring industry a few years ahead into the future.
Some say its only a matter of time till there's 3d flicks w/out the glasses.

jrnyman28 wrote:It is likely with the advancement of special effects and the pervasiveness of violence in our culture that this will be a more brutal movie. But I am not sure how it will stack up to Halloween. I didn't think Halloween was that bad except for Rob Zombie's need to fill almost all dialogue with vulgarity. I have nothing against swearing but it seemed a little excessive to me.
