Maybe everyone forgot, but that was part of his story during the show -- that he'd been living out of his car. So maybe this is true, or just a time tested sympathy ploy, who knows? I pretty much knew they had to pick him all along, because he was the only one who sounded like Michael Hutchence. The whole deal about being open to even women singers was never sincere for a minute.
I agree 110% Rip. How the hell are they going to have a female singer (no offense ladies, but that's like Journey replacing Perry with a woman) sing the hits? That whole show was nothing but a ploy to bring the band back into the spotlight and give them an audience to tour for. It worked very well, and I'm sure they're laughing all the way to the bank! Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying they're bad guys (I really don't know anything about the personalities in that band whatsoever). I'm just saying the show was a farce. I can't say I blame them though, as it was a brilliant marketing move!
