Lippin is obviously tring to push someone over the egde so that the thread gets locked.
There is no reason that Lippin should be so hostile about us discussing Jeremey. There is something more than what meets the eye here.

Jeremey hasn't done shit for me other than impress the hell out of me live, twice. Anyone who wants to criticize ought to see him live and in the flesh (as should people about any singer). I haven't even seen Arnel in person yet.
Did I even start this thread you two-bit shrimp dick? Jeremey's fair game here any way. And who the fuck made you supreme arbiter of content?

And Jeremey hasn't been a member of the Annex for several months now. Ehwmatt and Voyager aren't members there either. I, however, am a member, and Frontiers is rarely mentioned there anymore, because of personal reasons that don't need to be discussed here. Your 'agenda' theory has an 'agenda' of it's own, I'm afraid.
Regardless, Jeremey no longer participates here by his own choosing. Frontiers is a Journey tribute band, making threads discussing it very relevant to a Journey forum. Just because you may not like J or his band doesn't mean that others are not interested in learning more about them. Hugo, Chalfant, Kelty, these guys are discussed too. There is no problem here except the one you're trying to create, and hopefully it won't work.

To think that it was done to have any agenda, is wrong.
IMO, Jeremey would have been a far better choice. He's the perfect Journey tribute singer and without SP, Journey is now a tribute band in tribute to the man and the sound that everyone in the world who knows the band, associates the sound with, The Voice.
P.S.
As I've said before, I'm a proud, straight, male loon. It's nothing to do with sexuality. I'm a loon over the man's talent. Nothing more, nothing less.

Virginia's loss is the country's gain: if you guys get a chance to see Frontiers (although the band is almost completely different than what you see in these videos) I encourage you to go. It's a great show!
Take a shot where you can.
Not sure if anyone else did, but I read between the lines.
The name of the band is Journey. Their lead singer is Arnel Pineda. He won the job, rightfully. He was the best man for the job. He's been amazing and those that say different are delusional.
You have no idea what the master would prefer, now do you?
No, Rick. The name of the band is Frontiers, and that's who this thread is discussing. Dude, you might be hurting Andrew's livelihood by picking a fight where none exists. Sheesh!
nolippin wrote:The article only presents the side Jeremey wants you to believe...not what "really" happened. So, I believe your thread to be misleading. The subject and all the inconsistencies and contradictions in the story have been discussed here ad nauseum. I question why it was brought up yet again. The article is over a year old, and the "audition" was two years ago.

WRONG! The title of the thread says Journey, not Frontiers.

Actually, Rick. You're right. You got me there. I didn't consider the title of the thread. My participation began when someone (Gideon, I think) said he had only heard J singing on 'Suzanne'. So I added some links to other Frontiers performances. Arnel's name was not mentioned by me. I am currently a Frontiers (and a Jeremey) fan, and had no other ulterior motive other than to share their music with people who were interested.
IDGAF about what happened with Journey. Leave me the fuck alone.
mikemarrs wrote:knowing the revolving door situation with vocalists how are we not to know if something happens with arnel they could always go back and look at jeremey again or recontact him if they ever felt the need.i'd never say never in situations like these because anything is truly possible as we have already seen.....
i wonder if jeremey would consider it if they ever did cross that bridge again.interesting to see what he'd do if given another opportunity to look at it.

And he kept us all pretty much up to date with what happened. And many of us chatted with him openly on the threads about it and via PM etc.
But I hadn't read that article either, so, thanks for posting it.
As we all know there are three sides to every story....... yours, mine and the truth.
And we all read the information and make up our own minds about it.
All that matters is that Jeremey and his family are ok and that his life is taking him in a direction he and they are happy with.
And nobody can say he doesn't have a great singing voice.
The 'forcing' people have mentioned is, I think, understandable when you are singing some Journey songs. It is only human nature to emulate even if you do it subconsciously.
I don't think anyone will hear any 'forced' vocals when Jeremey is singing his own stuff.
I was one of those who warned him that the Journey offer might be a poisoned chalice, [in light of how Jeff was sacked] so even though he may well have given up the chance to be a millionaire............money isn't everything and he seems happy to me pursuing this new avenue.
I think it has probably turned out for the best.
Best of luck to the guy. That's what I say.
I hope he comes back and posts with us again sometime, too.

I'm not going to turn this into a mud-slinging contest, because Jeremey's not here to defend himself. All I'm going to say is re-read the article then read what I highlighted. Jeremey didn't give up the position, nor did he turn them down to be with his family. He was offered the job, then recieved a call from management saying they wanted to weigh all of their options. They turned him down, not the other way around. They chose Arnel.
Jeremey's got a great voice, and I really look forward to hearing his new songs with Spinks. If he releases an album, I'll buy it. I wish him the best of luck with his future endeavors.
