I have to know, because it's bugging the shit out of me.
Not forgetting that SP had mixed emotions a few times. He knew that HE was driving the bus and could go where he wanted but had shit happening in his life that he was dealing with.
I'm just saying that he never knocks the other guys and they have taken many shots at him. I keep asking anyone to post ANYTHING negative that SP has EVER said about anyone in Journey, and no one ever posts ANYTHING. Their problems are well documented, but how each side has handled it is also documented. SP with positivity and fond memories and the other 3 with negativity and childish bitterness. That's pure fact.
Show me ANYTHING negative that SP has ever said about ANY of those guys.
I hope they all sign "The Voice" below their own names on the checks that they deposit into their bank accounts. They should fall to the ground and thank their lucky stars that SP came into their lives.
Unbefuckingleviable.
Anything SP said? So fucking what? He actually directly fucked this band out of egomania. Jon? Neal? Not so much. Who the fuck cares what any of them said?
Actions speak louder than words.
Wrong. He actually fucked this band into ever mattering. A lot of fans care what they've said. You're clueless.
I'm losing my patience with your double standards. You'll bitch to SJ about namecalling and then troll and whine and cry and pout whenever someone doesn't agree with you.

Exactly.
Now, it's true, SMFP has never publicly uttered an unkind word about Journey since his departure, but I'm not buying this "high road" nonsense. I can understand him not feeling "part of the band" IN THE BEGINNING because he felt he was coming into the situation with virtually no credentials vs. Neal &
Greg and the fact that they were pretty clear that they really didn't want a frontman - let a lone a "crooner". I can understand there being some insecurity there. I think Perry has tried on numerous occassions to clarify that statement.
As time progressed, however, he was firmly in charge of the direction the band was taking on - and that worked out pretty well for a while. Where the thing seems to have come off the rails is when Perry decided for his own personal reasons (which he's entitled to) that he wanted to shut it all down. There's nothing wrong with him quitting the band, if that's what he felt he needed to do. Him quitting is his business, but bringing the band to a grinding halt while he does his little Hamlet act (...to be, or not to be..) is taking food off other peoples table, and that is unforgivable. Neal & Jon, not to mention Ross have every right to be bitter. The only difference between SMFP and the rest of those guys is they're willing, in a very limited way, to express there displeasure. SMFP has a cadre of defenders to take up his cause for him.

Funny how you conveniently excluded the platinum Bad English debut which had 3 Top 40 hits including a #5 and a #1. I know that doesn't stack up well against Against The Wall or FTLOSM, though.madsplash wrote:Saint John wrote:madsplash wrote: And yes, if that was SP's decision, it was his to make.

No, he could have recorded chart busters with Jan Hammer and Hardline.

Ok, sure, they released an album a decade ago, but they were long over as they "were" (note the emphasis from the quotations alluding to the height of their popularity decline in the mid-late 80s)... that's what I meant.

No, I dug Bad English. Just another example of Neal and Jon riding the coat tails of a great singer/frontman, John Waite. It's cool for them to do that. They've gotten to be quite the professionals at it. They're talented SIDEMEN who need direction. It's cool.
