Perhaps Journey's success without him has prompted him to get his old ass into the studio, but his probable insecurities and obvious contentment for retirement may spur him to just record for leisure without releasing new material.

Agreed, but it's never been about range for me.........IMO, his tone/vibrato, power and emotive ability in delivering a song are second to none and I would think those qualities are still there. i don't know if sp will release anything this year. not sure why others feel the need to tease people with what they pretend to know. i'm always hopeful of new music from any of my favorite artists, but i don't have to know every release date RIGHT NOW! in this day & age of modern technology, i think we all hear of official release dates well before music is available. i doubt that anyone ever misses out when they don't get the hot tip from their embalmer's, bestest friend's, identical half-sister.
